Interesting book not the n my normal genre
I decided to try something different so used my Kindle Unlimited to try this romance book. Probably glad I did and I'll likely try another by this author since they are standalone books.

so full of emotions
Well what I started reading for a nanny trope turned out to be a long read of emotions. Hollis is a single uncle raising his neice because of his brothers drug use. He is hiring a nanny to help the teen and Eloide crashes in to him. The book has some funny happenings. It is very slow burn, teasing and wishy washy most of the book. Most of the book focuses on both characters having major trust issues. Hollis had been with Anna for years and she left him, he will find out much later why BUT it jaded him and the whole book is him not trusting love. Elodie best friend has incurable health and she works behind the scenes to make Elodie feel and see love in front of her. The book has some spice around 70% in but it is fast and mostly kissing after that. Does have a HEA but after all the emotion of the story it seemed rushed and cut off. Just not ending it feeling giddy

sexy, fun, and sad too
Park Avenue Player is sexy, fun and kinda sad too. Telling why it’s sad is a major spoiler,so I won’t do that. But this one isn’t all fun and games. It should come with a cancer death trigger warning, too.

These authors write the greatest stories TOGETHER!
Don't get me wrong - I have enjoyed Penelope Ward's talent for emoting from the moment I discovered STEPBROTHER DEAREST and THROB after getting my Kindle some years ago. I also loved Vi Keeland's joie de vivre that shouted out of every story of hers that I've read (and I have read nearly all of them). That said, may I say that I especially love how I always seem to really like these ladies' lead female characters? Elodie is by far one of my favorites - I have hated on a couple of Ward's characters (from Neighbor Dearest and Roomhate - those sisters who hated on the two wonderful men who were their exes were seriously demented and bitter). I only finished reading Neighbor Dearest because of the MMC - and joy! I got to see Elec (again) be the better man by answering that idiot who loved his moron of an ex with a positive message of joy in loving on his son. But, back to Elodie and Hollis - they both had wonderfully supportive best friends, but Elodie and Hollis together? Fireworks! If ever there was a sign that two people were meant for each other, the constant, continuous in-your-face moments Hollis kept having should have been enough. However, Hollis was, after all, just a man, so he took awhile to figure things out. Their journey was hilarious, painful, but blessed. This was a beautiful story of love and living life without regrets. I wish I could give multiples of the maximum stars allowed, but alas, I can only give Five Stars.

HOT! Mind-blowing sexy boomerang of love and loss
Ward and Keeland have moved beyond writing simple romance, and written a deeply sexy, soulstirring ode to living in the moment. At times funny, pulse-poundingly dirty and sweet, balanced by the uniquely human experience of grief and longing, the story succeeds because ultimately, love, passion and simmering chemistry can't be denied.Park Avenue Player must be swallowed whole in one gulp. It’s can’t be read politely, cup by cup. Because Pen and Vi are back with a one of a kind hot hot HOLY HELL “clutch your kindle to your chest between each swipe” modern romance.A hot mind-blowing angsty boomerang of love and loss. When my kindle wasn’t in danger of combusting, I thought it might drown in a sea of sorrow. Unputdownable, passionate and completely consuming. This heart bleed of a romance will sneak up on you, with so many crescendos and twists until it becomes an intoxicating high wire act where you question your sanity—“will I survive this?” And you will, oh my god, and you’ll want so much more from Hollis and Edolie. Park Avenue Player will destroy your sleep in the best and worst ways.If you’re looking for a simple enemies to lovers cliche-ridden romance, don’t bother. If you want adult contemporary romance with real people and real stakes, Pen and Vi deliver in every scene. Quit reading this review and Buy. The. Book. It’s incredible.Hollis is mine, though. He had me and Elodie at the first flirt, and it is the BEST EVER! These two. If I have one clear thought, it’s that Hollis LaCroix is THE modern romance god among men, and at the same time a conflicted mess of a man. You can’t look away, and his courtship of Elodie will sweep you away. It's everything I want in a modern forbidden love story. Single dad, nanny, second chance, enemies to lovers, and that's the first thirty pages. This love story will consume you.The signature Vi and Pen elements are here: The filthy banter, woke friends, modern love in the big city, lipstick and heat, sickness and death, and their trademark angst dialed to eleven. And there’s Hollis, the sexy FlockHot hero milking an existential brood, and Elodie, the beautiful brilliant maladroit object of his affection, on the cusp of breaking out and living her best life, if only they can just unzip their baggage long enough to just BE together. If you’re still reading this, I don’t know what else to tell you, except I wish I could read it all over again without knowing anything. Park Avenue Player is a massive emotional stand out in a sea of ordinary.

unexpectedly emotional
Went in pretty blind. Great story and didn’t expect it to get so emotional. So glad I read it. I got the audible to go along with it and the narrators are two of my favs. Would recommend ❤️

A bit far fetched at times
Erm I did start off liking this book but then I got a bit board with how many chances she kept giving him BUT that was nothing with the big reveal of the book which I have to say was utterly ridiculous, I mean seriously her best friend is his ex love of his life and nobody connected the dots. Very far fetchedI'm gutted because I've liked other books by these authors but a bit disappointed with this farfetched storyline

Will Love win out.
Our exciting hero Hollis and heroine Elodie meet when they have a car accident. Both are acrimonious that the other is responsible for the collision. Then they meet as employer and employee, surprisingly again at a job interview a short time later.Turns out Hollis is wealthy and owns a Funds business and is looking for a nanny to look after his niece. Elodie is the prospective nanny but when he see her he immediately dismisses her ability to look after his niece because she appears not to be able to parallel park.By fate, in the foyer of the building, on her way out, she unknowingly meets and befriends the same niece she had hoped to be nanny to. Hollis happens to over hear the discussion they are having and decides to give Elodie a second chance. This book jointly written by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland is a wonderful read and I recommend you acquire it and find out what happens exactly for yourself.

Baaa!
I have always been a fan of Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland, they are amazing writers both in their own books and as a duo. Their writing is faultless, entertaining and completely engrossing, and draws you in from the very first page. Park Avenue Player, gets a big 5 stars from me! Elodie and Hollis have amazing chemistry right from the start, despite their first meeting. Great characters and good storyline, there is even a cameo appearance, overall a very humorous, but emotional read. I thoroughly recommend "Park Avenue Player", I loved it and I think you will to. đź’—
