I Didn't Do My Homework Because...

This is a great picture book for getting students to see how some excuses for not doing homework is absolutely ridiculous. Even though this book maybe simple in writing style, my fifth graders loved it as a read aloud. There were laughs, perplexed facial expressions, and smiles by most of them. I used this picture book to introduce my virtual rules for homework assignments. It was a winner!

When I was browsing for books on Amazon, I knew this one looked like it'd be a hit. My students went absolutely bananas for it! It's such a fun read-aloud, and they were roaring with laughter at each page/excuse. The end is so fun- I won't spoil it, but trust that it's funny! I had them make up their own funny excuse for not doing homework, and the winner received a 'no homework pass' for one night. :)

Cute book, reading level not very high. More of a picture book. Maybe 1st grade level max

My granddaughter LOVES reading. I had read about this book in the New York Times Book Review section and was impressed with the review. I loved how entertaining and innovative the reasons were in "I Didn't Do My Homework," I loved the illustrations (which sponsored a lively conversation on each page), and I loved the ending! I knew it was a winner when I asked my granddaughter if I could keep the book at my home instead of her taking it back to her place and she refused!!! I recommend this book without reservation.

I had my 5th grade students read this and then come up with one silly excuse for missing homework. It becomes the only homework pass I give them. They loved it!

Professeur d'anglais, j'ai acheté ce livre pour l'étudier en classe avec mes élèves, et l'histoire leur a beaucoup plu! chaque page correspond à une excuse, c'est donc facile de "découper" cela pour faire travailler les enfants sur telle ou telle excuse. Je recommande!

J'ai commandé ce livre pour le lire en classe à mes élèves de collège...et ils ont adoré !!!!! Les illustrations sont très belles, les phrases simples.La chute et la 4° de couverture rigolotes ! seul bémol : je m'attendais à un format plus grand.

Ein Buch das Kinder absolut lieben - meine Klasse wurde dadurch angeregt von sich aus ein eigenes Buch mit Ausreden für nicht gemachte Hausübungen zu machen!

Dans l'espoir d'éviter une réprimande, le héro qui n'a pas fait ses devoirs utilise tout son répertoire d'excuses abracadabrantes.L'insitutrice se laissera t'elle convaincre?Petite histoire amusante mais je ne suis pas sûre que les enfants me la redemander souvent.
