I bought and then read and listened to it twice. Absolutely amazing!

While much of his life has been chronicled, I was truly unaware of what an impact his time in America had on him. His views on management, team structure, and business all have an influence dating back to his NASL days-something recently confirmed in a BBC interview with Thomas Rongen. He also played baseball as a boy, and talks about the parallels to soccer. A probing mind as interesting as his football.

Fantastic! I wasn’t sure what to expect. I received a glimpse of Johans life and a soccer history lesson. More than that an intimate look inside what happens behind club doors with coaches and politics. Winning, loosing and caring. One of my favorite books now!

Great read and insights to the world game from someone who lived it and helped turn it into the modern game.

Just what I ordered.

Amazing book about Johan's life. He talks about his life surrounding the beautiful game. Tactics of Total Football is explained in chapter 13. I highly recommend this book.

Um cara que marcou o futebol como jogador, técnico e pensador e é muito interessante ver como as coisas mudaram (algumas com sua participação/influência) do começo da sua carreira para os dias de hoje. O livro tem ótimas observações sobre o futebol (individual e tático, na visão do Cruyff) e o gerenciamento de um clube.O problema é que o fica bem tedioso do meio para fim, quando o Cruyff acaba a carreira como técnico e basicamente vira um dirigente / crítico de tudo relacionado ao Ajax e seleção holandesa.

Very interesting book. Concentrates on his behind the scenes with Ajax and Barcelona rather than his playing days. Its interesting to compare your perception of the man, (I was lucky enough to see him play) against his view of himself which is I would say balanced.Read the book and form your own opinion its worth it.
