Old toaster went bang after an incident with an escaped currant from a bun and a teaspoon. Oops. Shame, it was great. One feature that I particularly liked was the bagel-button (toasts one side only) and I was keen that the replacement should replicate. Tough ask as it turned out, not many toasters have this function. Had to pay rather more than I’d planned, but so far not disappointed. The Dualit looks good, feels solid, has minimal but useful features, nice wide slots, takes a separately available sandwich toasting cage which is great, and toasts pretty well. Particularly like being able to lift to view without breaking the toasting cycle.Pricey but money well spent.

It’s rare in life that I buy the same item twice. Well I owned the toaster prior to this for 7 years I only replaced it as the older one was looking tatty. Yes it never broke in 7 years. Be aware over time the paint will wear down that indicates the timer duration bagel and frozen settings, however by the time it does you will have used it that much you are fully aware of all the functionsHow does it toast? - Very well nice and even.Will it fit a Warbutons Toasty slice? - Yes but it will leave the top of the slice underdone, I used flip it half way through and this was easy using the large manual handle. This action does not turn off the cooking cycle and or heating elements and made the toast more than acceptable. We bake our own bread now hence why this is now a non issue. The cooking area is larger any previous toaster Iv had.The toaster is well built, it’s not rebuildable like Dualit toaster higher up the range, however in 7 years it was still toasting happily.In short so good we bought it twice.

The design has a touch of elegance which means the toaster makes a statement, as far as a toaster can, with a retro-1950's look. It is an attractive, rounded design with fairly simple controls. There is a button for bagels, which, with cut sides to the centre, will toast the cut side and warm the crust, a feature also useful for muffins, especially thick northern affairs, and there is also a defrost button, As well as slices of bread you can also defrost bagels and muffins by pressing both buttons simultaneously.Completing the set is a browning dial (1-8) with a cancel button in the centre. Around 4 or 5 seems about right for me, depending upon thickness, but it is worth remembering toasting is faster if you are doing a second or more rounds in succession as the elements start hot for subsequent slices, so browning needs to be turned down a little.I suspect 8 would be at the charcoal end of toast but don’t knock it, I had a colleague at work who liked his toast to be just short of being in flames, so each to his own.The toast is lowered with an attractive lever with a colour co-ordinated knob and can be lifted during toasting to check on progress without cancelling - just a quick look and carry on toasting or cancel and eat.The slots are particularly wide, 36mm, 1.4ins in old money, so will fit doorstops if that is your choice. As for Warburton’s Toastie, which seems to have become the unofficial British Standard for toasters, the slices fit . . . just, the top sitting just about inside the target area of the elements – but, if you are concerned by the Warburton’s test, the slices fit comfortably sideways, dropping well into the element comfort zone to end all debate.So how about toasting, which after all is why you buy a toaster? Attractive design and good looks count for nothing if it can’t toast bread and on that score it is superb.I must admit, we have been fortunate with toasters over the years. This replaced a Krups’ model we had had had for probably 15-20 years and which had started to toast unevenly and would no longer cancel. Our past toasters have all been good quality and did their job well, but this takes toasting to another level.First of all it is consistently an even toast, with slices of bread an even colour from edge to edge and both sides virtually the same colour. Wider slices and items such as thick Yorkshire muffins need to turned down a little or checked regularly as obviously the surfaces are closer to the elements so will toast quicker, but again the toasting is even.The toast itself even tastes a little different, or at least has a slightly different texture than I have found with any other toaster. The outside of the toast comes out crisp, yet the inside is warm and still soft, which becomes more noticeable the thicker the slice. You see this claim on the Dualit videos and think it is just marketing spin, but it is actually true. You get crisp toast with a soft centre.So far I have found no problem and I am delighted with the toaster’s performance. It is certainly not the cheapest toaster around, and does not have the bells and whistles some toasters can offer, there is no LCD browning control or digital countdown, no motorised lift, no reheat function, but it has everything you are ever likely to need and more than that, what it does have is the ability to make superb toast, and that, after all, is all you really want from a toaster.The four star on cleaning incidentally, is not because of any inherent difficulty in doing the job, but simply because the shiny chrome demands a bit more effort to keep clean and looking pristine than coloured panels that are happy with merely a quick wipe over.

Very nice-looking toaster, well made and looks great on the work top. However getting regular cut bread in is a mission as the slots are slightly too small. Must be designed for continental bread which is much smaller.Does a great job of toasting other items such as crumpets etc.

Loved the neat little size and the red colour. The toast was nicely done in that unlike my old toaster the bread slice was totally done. Nice hot well done toast. The heat range is very accurate 👌 so everyone can have toast as they like it. Would however have liked it to toast just one piece on occasions. Well designed, would expect this product to last a long time.

Previous one lasted 8 years and was used everyday multiple times sometimes. Speed is good, temperature is hot, never used past selection 2. Slot big enough for bagels or thick slices of bread. Defrost function. Thick slice function. Didn’t hesitate to choose it again. Springy pop up.

I bought this to replace my stupidly slow ancient Morphy Richards roadster and it has proven to be a good buy. It looks really good in it's chrome and white colour way on the counter and is very easy to operate. It really is super fast but doesn't quite toast uniformly, same as the rest of them... The single crumb tray works well too and saves a lot of mess. It is definitely the cleanest toaster I have used and the best all round really.

Ich habe den Toaster schon seit mind.8 Jahren in Benutzung. Nun ging er kaputt. Da ich mit ihm sehr zufrieden war, habe ich mir das gleiche Modell noch einmal gekauft.Mir gefällt vor allem, das die Einstellungen für jeweils nur 2 Toastslots gelten, so das man je nach Bräunungsgrad bzw.Brotart unterschiedliche Einstellungen vornehmen kann oder eben auch nur 2 Slots in Betrieb genommen werden müssen, wenn man nur 2 Toasts toasten möchte. Pro 2er Seite kann man den Bräunungsgrad, die Auftaufunktion und die Bagelfunktion nutzen. Letztere bewirkt in jedem Slot eine einseitige Aktivierung der Heizstäbe, so das man auch z.B. aufgeschnittene Brötchenhälften einseitig toasten kann. Die Krümelschublade läst sich leicht entnehmen und gut reinigen. Den Toastvorgang kann man jederzeit per Taste unterbrechen (auch immer nur für 2 Slots) und per Hebel kann man das Brot zwischendurch anheben um zu sehen, wie braun es ist. Dabei wird der eigentliche Rößtvorgang nur kurz unterbrochen. Sobald man den Hebel wieder absenkt, gehts weiter. Das ist vor allem am Anfang ganz hilfreich, wenn man noch keine Erfahrung mit dem Toaster hat. Für Toast bzw. Brot (wir toasten auch z.B. Vollkornbrot) reicht in der Regel die Stufe 2 aus. Mit dem Brötchenaufsatz (leider extra zu bestellen, daher 1 Punkt Abzug) können Brötchen aufgebacken werden, dazu ist die Stufe 4-6 zu empfehlen. Der Toaster erledigt seine Arbeit gut und zuverlässig. Von allen Toastern, die wir bisher hatten, hielt dieser am längsten und hat bis zum Schluß so gearbeitet wie am Anfang. Ich kann ihn wärmstens empfehlen !

No more squashed toasted sandwiches. I brought this because it is meant to be the most reliable toaster on the market. I can’t comment on that because I’ve only had it a few weeks. I’m very happy so far it’s extremely powerful

Excellent et beau, livraison rapide, mieux que le modèle plus cher de la même marque qui avait rendu l’âme après 6ans d’utilisation (soi-disant résistant à vie?) les tranches de pain sont bien maintenues au centre des espaces de grill ce qui évite les bords brulés et permet une grillade uniforme et rapide. Utilisation simple, en fait il s’agit de facto de deux grille-pain au réglage indépendant d’épaisseur de tranches, et de durée de grillade.

Muy buena calidad de tostado, uniforme y bien regulado. Viene muy bien poder comprobar cómo va el tostado pudiendo subir la tostada. La función de panecillos es una de las cosas por lo que lo compre y es estupendo poder hacer 4 a la vez, acabas en un periquete. Las ranuras son anchas y así entran con facilidad panes y bollos
