Jetted bathtubs have about 15 to 20 feet of plumbing lines in the system. The plumbing lines are a perfect breeding ground for bacteria and dangerous pathogens with the warm stagnant water left in the lines. As this water sits in the lines it forms what is called a biofilm, commonly called slime. An abundance of bacteria lives in, and is protected by the biofilm. Using Oh Yuk System Cleaner To Clean Hotel, Resort, and Bed & Breakfasts' Jetted Tubs: 1.) Fill the bathtub with warm water. Make sure the water is high enough over the jets so you can turn them on. 2.) Run the tub with the jets on. 3.) Add Oh Yuk System Cleaner. The longer you let Oh Yuk run through your system, the better job it will do cleaning your plumbing. Initial Cleaning: 8 oz. per 100 gallons for 1.5 hours. Maintenance Cleaning: 2 oz. per 100 gallons for five to ten minutes. (For Housekeeping, Cleaning Services, Maid Services, and Bed & Breakfasts: we recommend adding Oh Yuk to the jetted tub before you start cleaning the rest of the room. Then just let Oh Yuk run through the system until you are done cleaning and proceed with the next steps of the jetted tub cleaning process. Locations with high use jetted bathtubs should clean the tub after each guest uses it.) 4.) Drain the bathtub. 5.) Clean the scum ring and the surface of the tub with a good cleaner. 6.) Fill the tub over the jets, turn the jets on for a few seconds, then drain the bathtub.
