Would not Recommend Purchasing
I have owned a few of the Logitech Laser mice including this one. They all suffer from giving false signals even if you are not touching the mouse. Its very typically to be on the web or a spreadsheet, and have your spreadsheet zoom (either in an out) to a completely unacceptable size. Try switching applications to get it to stop. Again various laser Logitech mice all have the same problem. A few thoughts if you can't resisting buying one to elimate the cord. Don't buy the mouse and keyboard combination, which can be very pricey, but buy them separately. When they stop working properly in a few months, you'll lose less money. Additionaly, don't go with the rechargeable mouse - go with the replaceable battery like this one. I have spent hours of cumulative time waiting for the mouse to recharge in order to have computer access again. Its very easy to be be in the habit of putting it on the recharger every evening.

Looks Can Be Deceiving...
Seeing that there are many similarly designed mice (the MX series) from Logitech, I thought this review might be helpful. This is my second Logitech mouse (I often get duped into thinking that good aesthetics means good performance and at the moment Logitech seems to put out the "right looking" mouse). My first one (an earlier version of V200) stopped working after 6 months. I purchased the MX600 at a nearby Target for $30. At first, it worked fine, though it felt a bit heavy compared to other mice I used before. After about three weeks, the battery light started flashing orange (the box said it should last about 6 months to a year--"if you use the on and off button"...who likes to go through that kind of hassle?) I also started to notice that the mouse would occasionally jump around and shift to a different location on the screen. Went through the common sense drill and replaced the batteries again, but it did not fix the problem. After several months of "enduring" the mouse, I found out from an online forum that many users are having similar problems with cordless laser mice in general (to be fair to Logitech). There was a suggestion of changing the mouse pad to a black color (up to that time I was using a grey colored mouse pad) and so I flipped my mouse pad to its black rubber side to test it out and amazingly it minimized the shifting problem. However, this is still an unacceptable performance from a laser mouse. Now I have to go find something black to use my mouse on. _ _SummaryPROS:*Good ergonomics--it feels solid in your hand.*Stylish finishCONS:*Poor battery life (who actually wants to bother with turning on/off their mouse before/after each use?)*Aforementioned tracking problem*Feels solid, but equally bulky and heavy (the mouse actually feels like you have to push it around instead of simply gliding it along the mouse pad)*Minor point: maybe it's my big hand, but the second thumb scroll button (there are two buttons right next to each other) is located in an awkward, uncomfortable position--too close to the palm.Hope this review was helpful or at least you have a more pleasant experience with yours.

Best mouse I have ever had
Back when I first started using a computer, I went through a mouse a year, and sometimes 2 a year. This mouse has lasted four years. Mine is wearing out now. The top layer of shiny gray coating has worn down in some areas. That has been like that for the last year or so, but now the buttons are wearing out. That is how much it has been used these last 4 years. That is also why I'm hoping this order goes through to get another one just exactly like it. Other reasons I like it: It has 3 programmable buttons on the top (in addition to the regular left mouse button, scroll wheel, and right mouse button). I use those to control my volume on the computer and to mute it, when necessary. There are two additional programmable buttons on the side where your thumb goes. I use those for various controls in games. The scroll wheel makes navigating through web pages super fast and easy as well. I have really loved this mouse. I was so happy to see new ones just like it available on Amazon.

A mouse worth having
It was everything I expected, since it's my second one. Plug in and start using! That simple. Very comfortable in my hand. Love the "back" button on the side.

Really Great Mouse
Access to more features than you will ever use especially in combination with the MX-3200 keyboard which is what I originally purchase about five years ago. But the laser went out on me last week and I went out and bought a M705 which doesn't have as many buttons or options for programing but its a practical mouse light weight and designed for batteries to last a year may be even longer, a far cry from the MX600 which eats batteries for breakfast and dinner (likely do to all the features). So I am going to replace my laptop Logitech V450 (Nano Cordless for note books) with the M705 I just bought and buy a new MX600. The M705 is nice but you have everything at your fingertips with the MX600.Tim

Excellent product, if used with right surface
I own this mouse for last 2+ yrs and it is the best product in market by design and features. Only shortcoming is that this mouse is very sensitive to the type of surface, it is used on.I had problem of choppy and uncontrolled cursor movement when used with 'microfibre' mouse pad. When used with matt finish paper it works flawless. Avoid using surfaces like glass, microfibre cloth, ordinary white paper etc. Preferrably use on ordinary (flat) table, wood, matt finish paper and it will work great.I am giving it 5 stars because other reviewers who complained are using this product on incorrect surface. If used with right surface, it is a 5 star product.
