A WONDERFUL ARTIST
The exhibition is small but immensely powerful, particularly the self-portraits. This is an excellent catalgue with high quality reproductions and an informative text.

Not worth a penny
The quality of the reproduction is...appaling!!! It is really a shame coming from such an instition! Colours are blant and poor. So disappointed especially after having enjoyed so much the exhibition . It seems no effort whatsoever was made by currators to promote H. Schjerbeck s work (the audioguide at the exhibition was utterly dull). She deserves much more! I wouldn't recommend this catalog.

An insightful exhibition catalogue and introduction to Helene Schberfbeck
The catalogue of the current RA show. This a lovely hardback book with excellent quality illustrations. The book also reveals her life with a chronology, useful index and sensitive essays. Helene Schjerfbeck was an unknown artist to me before the exhibition so this catalogue will be good to dip into and relive the experience of seeing the paintings in the flesh

The Wonderful Helene Schjerfbeck
Fantastic. I went to the exhibition, being a fan of Finnish Art, and knowing her work from the Ateneum in Helsinki. Good to be able to see her portraits in the UK - the first time she has been exhibited here. The book has all the catalogue paintings, as well as a whole set of interesting and enlightening essays.

An introduction to a little known artist
This was a gift for a friend who had been to the Helene Schjerfbeck at the Royal Academy and she was delighted to learn more about the artist.
