Not just manners
I really enjoyed this book. A lot of reasons for modern manners as far as eating as a family, electronic use etc. Less specific manner rules, heavy emphasis on house rules and that we all will make mistakes

Modern guide to manners- a great social story for societal behavior
This is a lovely book that pleases my whole family! Great illustrations make the book kid friendly. We have learned many new things from this book. I would recommend it to families looking for a more sophisticated social story. It would also be a good cultural primer for people learning English &/or moving to the USA or UK. It also opens my eyes to improving some of my not so polite phone behavior. A great read, I highly recommend.

Bad packaging
Beautiful book but mine came damaged. With stains all over the cover. When it was packaged to ship it was just put in a shipping box, no wrapping and dirt and water got on the cover.

Great!
Very nicely done! Some people said that its basic but, as it states, this is aimed at children so I found it perfect.

You got to pick your battles my friends, and some of these are better outsourced.
I tried to read this in earnest but gave up halfway through. I suspect Marie-Chantel must have a lot of help in her life, one way or another, to continue to radiate patience and calm to her children. I would also be a serene water lily if I had a daily house cleaner and taxi drivers ushering me around, rather than me driving the scream factory around. It is not that I don't doubt that she parents her own kids, it's not just having a nanny or not. It's the general stressors that make life difficult, like being the person who cooks all the meals and cleans all the dirty diapers. If I could do one and not the other I too would be easier going and have more patience to subtly engineer my children to know just inherently be able to learn place settings and whatnot. I wish I could, I had to go to etiquette school probably because my mom did not have time or patience to be the person who taught me how to like sit still and how to write thank-you notes. There is also an extreme undercurrent of privilege in this entire conversation that I am acutely aware of but unsure how to broach because you obviously have to be aspirational or entrenched to think buying a book titled "Manners Begin at Breakfast" will help your parenting regime. You got to pick your battles my friends, and some of these are better outsourced.
