Great work done by David Knipe . That the Author has spent over 30 years on this book itself makes it extremely credible. His in depth understanding of various SRAUTA procedures is amazing to a person like me who actually practices these in Real life. I could not keep the book down till I completed it at one stretch. Hats off to the Author for his tremendous effort in bringing this out.The flip side is from a Hindu perspective its annoying to see the Author harp on certain issues like1. Indo Aryan race theory - which has all but been discarded by modern historians2. Trying to fix a date/age for Vedas & Further delineate time difference between SAMHITAS & BRAHMANAS - historians are now constantly revisiting the dates and hence I feel it is a futile exercise. The VEDAS as rightly pointed out by the Interviewees are ANADI3. The Author is unable to overcome some of his prejudices - while trying to identify the reasons behind various practices like Pashubandhana e.t.cThe logic presented in final chapter is too simplisticOverall a great effort by the author neverthless
