Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Second Season [DVD]

This must be a pirated season. There’s no other explanation for not having the actors voice track on the sound track for select episodes. The background music and sound effects play fine. This means someone stole a copy before the tracks were combined or didn’t copy correctly when reproducing this to sell on the black market. I have seen this problem from others who made purchases on Amazon for movies. My device plays everything else just fine and these are the only episodes that don’t play normally. It’s illegal for Amazon to sell pirated copies. If they aren’t pirated then they are certainly defective. I was told they can’t fix it or refund just the problem episodes. Why not? They are making money from their sale. I think consumers should report them when these problems happen to the FCC to investigate fraud. How dare they recfuse refund for a defective product. It’s against their refund policy.

I received this item quickly and it was packaged well with no damage to it or the container.I'm a huge, huge, huge Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan. As in, when I'm not feeling good or down in the dumps, my husband knows to just put Buffy on and leave me to wallow. I'll eventually emerge feeling much better.I'm not sure what happened to the VHS tapes I used to have, but they've managed to go missing long ago. Not that it would matter, since they're obsolete. I had always diverted back to Netflix whenever I wanted to watch my favorite show. However, Netflix has a nasty habit of just randomly dropping a title. Because of this, I'm slowly collecting the DVD sets.I'll eventually buy one of the special edition box sets, but, for now, I'm enjoying these slim sets that I'm slowly picking up season by season. I like them because they take up little room and fit nicely on my shelf with our other movies and games.Disclaimer: This should be an Amazon verified purchase. I am a die hard Buffy fan and now I have the opportunity to introduce her to my teenage daughter. She was resistant at first, but by the middle of the first season I had her hooked. The second season is probably my favorite. Joss Whedon is an expert at both wit and emotion. The way this season makes us laugh, cringe and experience heartbreak cannot be beat. For anyone who has not experienced the Buffyverse, you must stop what you're doing and check it out now.

The second season of Buffy is a fantastic turnaround from the first. While the first season has a lot of fun, it was really there to introduce the idea of the world, and lay out the basic groundwork for all the characters. In the second season, we see the world expand out from Sunnydale a lot more, see the characters develop personalities to make them more relatable, and get a glimpse of something a bit darker that's coming down the pipe. While having these serious elements, we maintain some of the humor that we enjoyed in the first season, while refining its whimsy into something that you can enjoy as a moody teenager, or as an adult.*Bonus* For those who are watching the entire season, you may notice references to things that will happen in later season as well!

I would recommend this show if you have not seen it. If you are looking at season two, I assume you know the awesomeness. In season two it only gets better. I suggest you buy it.

I don't know if I can give an unbiased review of Buffy. I am somewhat of a Buffy addict. Its true. And there is no real 12 step program to help with my addiction... I love the humor, dark as it tends to be, I love the devotion of the Scoobies, towards each other. I love the relationship between Buffy and Giles. It continues to grow, into an amazing father-daughter duo. Buffy continues to grow, both in maturity, and as the Slayer. The season begins with her returning to Sunnydale, after the summer ends. Not dealing well with the Master killing her, she takes it out on those closest to her. This season is a wonderful step in the Buffyverse.

This item looked different than pictured on the site as far a cover art. The item is the season 2 but it is a Canadian version I assume since it has so much writing in French on it. The content is in English as the original show was aired. No problems with the content just thought it strange the cover art looked so different. A great show for the supernatural fan.

Still enjoying catching up with "Buffy" - Series 2 is darker in places, but, perhaps obviously, still maintains very high production levels - Scripts, direction, and acting all good. Whether I watch the lot is debatable, but for a Sci Fi/Horror series this is up with "Supernatural" in all areas.. Plenty of extras here too, for those who love them. Not me sadly. Highly recomended.

The second season of Buffy is considered by many to be the best. I personally think it is a toss up between this and season 3. This season begins with the fallout from the previous season as Buffy confronts the trauma of having been temporarily killed by the Master. There are a good few stand alone episodes in this series which I prefer to the soap opera style of later seasons and means that you can watch isolated episodes without having to watch them in the context of the whole season. Having said this, step forth the genius of Whedon who successfully manages to intertwine the main story arc amongst many seemingly stand alone episodes.The length of this season allowed for a lot of character development and also the introduction of three popular characters, those being Spike, Dru and Oz. Buffy, while still retaining her wise cracking pep, becomes a little more grown up and appreciative of her friends while she deals with having died, the jealousy of finding out she is not the only slayer anymore and her growing yet doomed relationship with Angel. This is the last season in which Buffy is allowed to be a teenager, by the end of this season we see her as a broken young woman as everything is taken from her. We get to be more acquainted with Angel, only for him to turn evil and break Buffy's heart. Willow also gets her heart broken by long term crush Xander, but unlike Buffy is able to move on to a loving relationship with guitarist Oz. She also begins to dabble in Wicca paving the way for future story lines and beginning the journey to a more confident self. Xander meanwhile hooks up with Cordelia who continues to take sarcasm to it's natural conclusion but with a slightly more mellower side showing through. Giles sheds some light on his sexy ripper days and continues to build up a strong paternal relationship with his slayer.There are so many classic episodes in this season that it's difficult to single out a few standout ones, but here goes: 'When she was bad' (Buffy spanks her inner moppet), Halloween (Willow gets sexy, everything goes crazy), 'The dark age' (Giles reveals his past), 'Ted' (beg to differ little lady), 'Innocence' (Angel turns evil), 'Bewitched, bothered and bewildered' (got the love), 'Passion' (heartbreaking), and my personal favourite all time episode 'I only have eyes for you' (ghostly, atmospheric and genuinely creepy).If you have the first season then this is the one to get next, it is absolutely brilliant and a modern day classic of it's genre. The special features are plentiful and of top quality, as are the index graphics. If you're going to buy anything Buffy related, buy this.

You really need to see it to believe it. It is what makes Buffy such a premonition. It's so amazing and beautiful. It always has been Sarahs show she really proves why she was cast.

Inspired silliness from a cast of near-middle-aged high school students. Also - apart from Giles (obviously) - some really funny attempts at English accents. Turn off your brain - enjoy!

This season was the game changer in my opinion and sets the scene for everything.It introduces all the main and future game players, Angel, Spike, Drusilla, The Mayor, The Annointed, The Judge, The introduction and death of Jenny Calendar, Oz, Willows introduction into magic, Zander and Cordelia.There is not a storyline that doesnt revolve around any of these guys.I enjoyed it, i havent seen it in years and found it just as exciting the 2nd time around.1 negative though is that i dont like the way the menus have been designed on the discs, you cant click play all, you have to manually select each title, then it goes into another menu and then you ahve to select it again.Apart from that i loved it.
