Useful
I used this to power a computer fan that is on top of my home theater receiver. The front panel USB of the receiver has constant power as long as it is plugged in. It still has power even when it’s off, so I bought this to be able to turn off the fan without unplugging the wires everyday and wearing out wires and ports. So far so good, had it for over a month and it works good. Powers the fan to exhaust hot air, has been keeping my receiver nice and cold ever since. It is pretty small in size, but I think it could be smaller since it is only just a switch.

The switch function is perfect.
I Installed LED light strip on the backside of my TV's and I use this switch to be able to turn the lights off whenever I want.

At last… an on/off switch for “switch-less” usb powered devices
This “in-line” usb line switch provides easy to plug-in/use capabilities whenever it is beneficial to turn “switchless”usb powered devices on and off, thus totally eliminating the need to connect/disconnect a device from its usb power source.

NOT for over 2 amp projects; good for low amperage uses.
I bought this to hook up to my Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, which I use as a media player, so I can turn it off and on without having to unplug it every time. I had two options, use a regular, non-powered thumb drive for videos and have the rainbow color cube (under-voltage warning) in the corner most of the time, or not use the switch. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with the switch, and it may be partially my fault because the description does say "up to 2 amps", but at the same time I feel this product is insufficient for what it is being sold for.First, this product will NOT work well with the Raspberry Pi projects needing 2 amps or more. The item description states on the front page "Can be used as power supply up to 2 Amp" so be advised. If you plan on using the Raspberry 3 Model B, running a weather station or heavy projects, using an LCD screen, running peripherals from he Raspberry Pi, or using an external hard drive, look else where.Pros: Does switch the power on and off, small, feels sturdy, good for less power extensive projects.Cons: Can only be used for limited projects.Overall: I would recommend this to those who do not need more then 2 amps.Unless you are using the Raspberry Pi for a basic project which

works great to power my LED strip I then attached to my alexa smart switch for "LED ON" function on a dumb TV back A+++
Excellent switch and well made. I use this on a string of white LED lights ran along the inside of my PC case totally unseen to the eye until I turn them on, and plu the other end into a usb AC adapter to I can light my inside of case up when PC is off or on to wok n it, check a fitting, upgrade or move a harddrive etc etc. it works very well. So much that I bought the exact same and did the similar thing on the back of my TV so I could have some ambient lighting behind my TV (but I bough a soothing orang-ish color instead of white) and my Tv isn't a smart one but an early plasma with no usb so this worked perfect to toggle on and off with voice plugged into my alexa smart switch also. "Alexa, TV LED" turns it on and or off. it works wonderful for this or I can turn it on with the switch as I walk by too....

Perfect switch for running LED strip lighting in my Jeep
My husband recently put in some little LED lights in the back of my Jeep. The only problem with the Jeep is that it constantly has power running to its power sources in the car regardless of whether it's on or off. So, he grabbed this switch off Amazon really quick to give me an option to turn the lights on or off. It works great. This is really just a simple switch that was perfect for turning on or off the constant supply of power. We left if overnight and checked the next day just to make sure it wasn't getting hot or having a problem with the power source and everything seems just fine. The switch is obviously easy to plug in and install where you need it to go, and small so it's perfect for little out of the way places for where you need a switch. I'd highly recommend this. Again, we used this in a Jeep USB plug to power a small strip of LED ribbon lights and it works just great.Pros: Great switch, easy to use, easy to install, does exactly what it says it shouldCons: None.

Very poor quality switch, but will not survive shipping.
This seems to be one of those cases where the build quality changes depending on when you order, because one of the other reviews mentioned that they felt that the switch felt good and had a good click to it. Mine does not. Mine has a very weak switch that is unable to maintain power. If you breathe on the switch, you'll lose power. Probably just changes in temperature will cause you to lose power.Perhaps it was crushed in shipping? That probably explains it. It is packaged in the polybag I've come to expect from China electronics. There's not a speck of protection for it, and it was likely crushed repeatedly along the way.Beyond the completely terrible switch, I would also ding it a few points for the cables coming out of the switch that lack any external strain relief, although they appear to have some inside -- the cables aren't dangling around loose, it just looks like they are. There are positives, though. The switch looks good, it is an 8s.303 switch VERY similar to the ones found on IKEA low-voltage lamps. The sockets and cables are good quality, and should be able to pull any amount of amps that you would put through a USB cable anyway. As others have mentioned, it doesn't have data pins at all, which in addition to not being able to pass data, might also confuse some chargers. But, for bulk power uses -- especially LED lamps -- this would seem to work pretty well, assuming it survives the trip to you.
