A great follow up to Junk by the same author.
I enjoyed Stuff as much as I enjoyed Junk, which is to say that I enjoyed it very much. It was fun to have a peek at Lewis and Jasper again. This time they are the supporting friends of Mas and Perry, two lost but lovable young men who find one another amidst the yummy vintage clothing and other assorted finds in Perry's half hearted attempt at a vintage store. Mas enters the scene in a whirlwind and reorganizes the store and Perry's life and his own as well. I enjoyed having a front row seat for the process. I stayed up until 4:30AM to finish it. I just didn't want to wait.I like that the book at heft. There were enough pages to both broadly and deeply show us the characters with all of their quirks, worries, and fears and to really develop the story of their building attraction, building a business and building partnership on all levels, both business and personal.

Wonderful British humor, light, charming romance. Loved it!
Josephine Myles is one of my favorite authors and her very British style is so much fun to read. I love the way Perry and Mas work so well even though they are very different. Perry is almost like a eccentric steampunk character with the vintage clothing shop and his lovely creations. Mas is firmly planted in the present and even when he is wearing some of the vintage styles described in the book, he is still thoroughly modern.I found the secondary characters charming, especially Jasper and Cherise. I had not read Junk prior to this book but with the story focused on Perry and Mas, the bit of background information provided worked so that I did not feel lost. I would recommend reading the first book just to get more details on Mas' background and he and Jasper's past relationship.Recommended for a light , charming romance.

Love Stuff!
Mas and Perry are my new favorite people! Actually, I say that every time I finish one of Jo Myles' books... the characters are my absolute pets.AND there's a shop [that's not 'exactly' vintage -- yet] occupied by well-dressed (and un-dressed) men ready with banter, witticism(s), ripostes, and quips for your amusement. There is more to these charming and adorable guys -- they are bruised but not broken -- and, with impeccable timing, have found each other.Lewis and Jasper, old friends from "Junk", are along to help Mas and Perry work through relationship misunderstandings, jealousy, old boyfriends -- ultimately leading to the making up parts -- *sigh.I wish Jo wrote a book a week... even then I'd have to wait *days* for the next volume. My solution: start over from the first book -- get reacquainted with my 'old' best friends!

Another First Rate Tale from a Favorite Author
Those who admire Jo' Myles' writing will love this book, I believe. It is a successor, if not precisely sequel, to JUNK, and is, to my taste, even more appealing. The narrative flows well, no sense of strain, the characters at all times believable, and likeable. I could write more about it but don't wish to spend time reading my thoughts. Read STUFF, instead. Read JUNK, first . . . .

Funny and sweet
I laughed so much while reading this book with everything that came out of Mas' mouth. Mas is like a tornado that takes over Perry's business and life. Perry at the beginning is very uptight, but Mas' persistence is very hard to resist. It was great to see more of Lewis and Jasper and the support they provide to the MCs. Loved, loved, loved the story.

Too Much Stuff for Me
Jo Myles is a great writer. I got this book because I really liked "Junk", about a hoarder and his salvation in the form of his handsome clutter-cutter and organizer. Her interesting plots hang together and proceed along a steadily building trajectory."Stuff", however, just doesn't measure up. As a lesbian, I applaud her for bringing relationships between gay men into the open. But for me, Mas, the twink, is just too too twinky, the man with whom he falls in love too dark, the dialogue too breezy and sweet. Myles missed the chance to mine these characters' psyches in a meaningful way.I look forward to Jo Myles writing a "real" book, with depth and better character development.

Four Stars
Fun series, even better damaged characters. With all the drama and craziness, what's not to love?

Pacy, Funny & Lovely
I read and enjoyed the precursor to this novel (namely 'Junk', which it is probably advisable to read before this one) and in many ways Mas was my favourite character of that story, so I was delighted to realise he got his own spin-off and a chance at his own happily ever after. Doubly pleased to find that this 'sequel' was even better than the first one, continuing a strong theme of 'opposites attract and then actually work perfectly for each other', which I think in romance is always charming. Mas is dramatic, campy, gobby and confident, whereas Perry is posh, reclusive, anxious and somewhat shy, but as with Myles' other books, I was pleased to see both characters drawn with many layers, moving beyond straightforward pigeonholes. Myles writes in what the blurb calls 'British English', with some Bristol idiom thrown in, and I found this very readable, realistic but without resorting to the dreaded 'phonetically spelt dialect', which I personally dislike. The sex scenes are fairly graphic without every seeming like a tick-box - she gets emotion through in an understated way excellently, which has to be the most 'English' thing of all, surely?Overall, one of the few M/M authors where, on finishing one book, I've thought 'Right, let's go and read everything else they've written, even tropes I'm not usually fond of, because this is damn good stuff'

Stuff - but no nonsense
Ah, Brisle, don't you think its gert lush my lover?! I do!! I liked Suff it's a great tale and humorous too which I like in books, because sometimes, I think humour is extremely difficult to convey in a book, but not here. If I lived with Mas I'd have to gag him, as much as he is a lovable rogue - actually more a manipulative little devil than anything, he would drive me crazy! I won't dissect the story line because, dear reader, you need to buy the book, but it is funny, charming, heart warming and infuriating all in equal parts, and lack of communication abounds. And the very best bit? Its set in the good old UK and I can almost hear the Bristolian accent ringing in my ears. I must confess I did like Junk more, but only because of the characters, Mas would do my head in LOLJM always writes a great tale and I am an avid fan. Long may she continue to write - especially about good old Bristol and surrounding areas, its much easier to imagine than in Anywheresville USA - not that I don't like our American cousins books, but its nice to read about home.

Second of the Bristol stories and another excellent read
One of the strengths Josephine Myles brings to her work is character definition. This second volume in the Bristol Collection is no exception. Junk (The Bristol Collection Book 1) A theme that she is developing is to take one or two secondary characters from the previous story and make them centre stage in the current one. This is also a feature of the third book (due in 2015). In this case party boy and department store worker Mas becomes the main character, as he stumbles into the neglected secondhand shop owned by upper class Perry. From there opposites attract, Perry questions his heterosexuality and together they begin to build both a tentative relationship and a viable business. Not without challenges. It really is an absorbing story where any sexual content is incidental and not the main event. Too many books in this genre end up as sticky grunt fests. This is much, much more and I look forward to the next instalment of the Bristol story arc Junk (The Bristol Collection Book 1)

Really good read
In this novel we learn all about Mas who was Jeremy's friend with benefits in the first of this series. Mas has just lost his job when he finds himself hiding from an irate security guard in a tacky vintage clothes shop. He meets the owner and his life changes forever. Perry is the owner of Cabbages and Kinks an old clothes shop. Things aren't going very well for him until he meets the whirlwind that is Mas. Together they reinvent the shop which with Mas's help starts turning a profit and Perry realises he isn't as straight as he thought. Two completely different people one posh and one working class start falling for each other but can they make a relationship work. Recommended

Cute
Cute little story. Writing style is simplistic, characters are endearing; subject matter, whilst similar in theme to Book 1, is different - not so much hording, more a lack of understanding with regard to retail and marketing. The protagonists from Book 1 turn up as secondary characters in this novel.Cute, inoffensive and a gentle read.
