First, I like the hat design, so much so that I bought both black and brown.There is something to be aware of here though. The hat shipped wrapped in bubble wrap and put in a box. No hat box, in other words. Now while my brown showed up in decent shape, the black was...not good. The brim was wavy and misshapen, so much so that I had to resort to a hot quilted cloth and steam iron to get it in presentable shape. This issue isn't just shipping, but I think speaks to the storage of these hats before they are shipped.I like the Gurnee quite a bit, this issue aside. Be very aware though that mail order hats are very much a crap shoot. Sometimes you win, but I think the majority of the time you get a product that you need to either work on yourself or take to a local hatter to fix.In this case I'd say be comfortable with how to steam hats before you purchase this online.

The hat was damaged all around the hat band. It was a gift and I was out of time so I had to give the gift as is.

The crown was soft as if I'd worn it for two years. The brim was so floppy it would not hold a shape. The hat did not come in a hat box to protect it. For the price it was okay I guess, but I expected more quality felt and stiffness from a Stetson. I really did like the dimensions and shape, though. If you need a cheaper hat and don't mind spending time steaming and ironing your hat, this might be right up your alley. This is not what I was looking for.

Great looking ... arrived in perfect shape... I have a 21 1/4" head size... Small size fits a little snug, but still comfortable. If you are border line between sizes, you might want to go up to the larger size!!

It was packaged good, in a generic box with plastic wrap around the hat. The color I chose is black; which means it's good for casual or formal wear. The only thing I have to get used to is that it does not have a strong "flip," which means I have to wear it with the brim either totally up or down.

Great hat! Get compliment after compliment. Fits great and looks good.

I am a man who likes to wear vintage clothing from 1900-1949, and I was looking to get a new fedora, as my old one is in need of cleaning and ironing! I have always wanted a Stetson hat, and I settled on this one, and I have nothing but kind words and feelings about this hat! It has the brim, and crown that is exactly what I am looking for! I’ve always wanted a Stetson that gave me a 1940’s vibe, and I got it finally! I am going to buy this hat in several other colors and I will continue to buy Stetson hats from now on!

As usual, Stetson delivers a quality hat!
