Bad Luck, Bad Decisions, Funny Stuff
Awkward and embarrassing, sometimes unbelievable situations seem to have dominated gangly James Acaster’s early life. He looks back unblinkingly, but fondly on his adventures and mishaps. Few books can make me laugh out loud. This one produced chuckles, giggles, and a few involuntary snorts. If you’re an awkward person who finds yourself in painfully strange situations, Acaster is your new high priest. If you’re already a fan, well what are you doing reading this review when you could be reading the book?

Wonderful
I loved this book, James acaster is a fun storyteller that draws you into mundane stories with impossible twists. I've heard many of these in his podcasts but reading it still made me laugh.

Is he The Bellboy?
This book made me laugh. Once or twice in my life I have been involved in a "Classic scrape", but here is a life and book filled with them. It reminded me of the old Jerry Lewis movies where one thing after another happened to him, and the things that happened were not necessarily his fault. Hilarious accounts of ridiculous events. His stand up is great too. He has a timing and delivery that is great, and his outlook is unique and very witty. It is a good book and an easy read. Made my day a bit better.

Can’t Go One Page Without Laughing!
I’ve watched James on countless panel shows in recent years. And when I found out he had a book, I obviously had to get it! Was not disappointed! Some stories I’d recognized from his work in television and others were completely new to me. I was quite sad when it ended. I laughed the whole way through (while simultaneously feeling very bad for him at certain points in his story). I loved it! Can’t recommend highly enough.

If you have to have James Acaster's humor explained to you, best to move along...
This is one of those books were if you are a fan, it's a great read. If you are not a fan or don't get his style, his appeal cannot really be explained.

If you don't know Acaster you don't know
Read this and enjoy his wit. Also try to catch his special Repertoire on a competing streaming service.

Hilarious
If you enjoy comedy, you'll love this book. The audio narration by James is a must. A lot of the stories included have been recounted in some of James' TV and podcast appearances, but they are just as funny a second (or third) time. If you need a laugh, read it. Better yet, listen to it.

James Acaster Classic S(crap)es
Saw this guy on a tv programme, and he seemed quite funny at the time. Tried the "Hilarious Times Bestseller", and managed to drag myself about 20% of the way through before deciding I'd be better occupied watching paint dry. Sorry, but he just doesn't transfer well to the printed page. Stick to tele or stand up James. One star for the tv laugh.

Boring.
Unfortunately I found this book really boring. I read the first four chapters and stopped because I was constantly yawning.I'm a male over 40 so maybe it's just me but my funny bone cannot be reached by James Acaster apparently.I could have easily written a book like this myself within a few hours without even thinking. Just so boring.

Delightfully daft
Glorious fun. James Acaster has an uncanny knack of getting himself in ridiculous situations and then generally making matters far far worse in his attempts to extricate himself. Told with his trademark self-deprecating wit and dry humour, it's guaranteed to raise a smirk. If you like James on the telly then you will definitely enjoy this (not least because he ends up in some fabulously embarrassing predicaments).

Hilarious!
This is one of those books which I will read again and again. If you're having a bad day, read it and you'll feel happier. If you're having a good day, read it and your day will get even better. God bless you James Acaster!

If you ever read anything again, read this.
This is without a doubt one of the best books I've read in a long time. It's written beautifully, it's hilariously funny and I read it in one sitting. It's lead me to purchase and read a few others, including James Acaster's Perfect Sound Whatever and Dave Gorman's Are You Dave Gorman?I truly had a fantastic time reading this, I was chuckling throughout and (astonighingly) it even gave me a few life lessons. Certainly one to lift the spirits during these troubling times.
