It works perfectly as intended but, (and this may be obvious to some people) the flavor is more bitter than it was with paper filters. I didn't like it and went back to paper filters.

I agree with the other reviewers that the size of the holes on the mesh are bigger so water passes through faster than it would on paper. The result is a watered-down coffee and lots of sludge. I have the  Perma-Brew 3 Year Re-useable Coffee Filter, Fluted Basket  and it works much better. It makes stronger coffee and no sludge. It works almost like a paper filter. I only looked for the steel mesh filter because the Perma-brew is made of Nylon which I thought wouldn't last as long as steel. I guess I will stick to it.I'm giving this 3 stars because it is well-made and looks good.

I bought this little thing about 3 years ago and still use it. Not to mention the fact that I use it at least once a day, since I have a minor coffee addiction. The only bummer with it is that you have to clean after each use whereas with the paper filters you can be lazy and just throw away after each use. So as long as you can manage rinsing it out after each use, this product will be perfect for you and save a few bucks each year.

I got this to use with my Black & Decker DLX1050B 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Glass Carafe, Black & Decker DLX1050B 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker. I was worried it wouldn't fit well because of some of the other reviews but it fits perfectly. It works well and will save me money in the long run. The low price is well worth it.

This coffee filter basket works, and the coffee tastes rich that filters through it, but it's cheaply made. The little plastic handle keeps popping out and you have to keep putting it back in. Other than that, I'm glad I bought it.
