If you're looking for a great pad, you've found it
I recently bought an olympic weight bench that had a squat rack. Everytime I tried to do squats, the bar would hurt my extremely bony should blades. I wanted to get the most out of my new equipment, so I was told to buy a squat pad.I did a lot of searching, and saw pads from $5 to $40. I decided that I didn't need anything extravagant so I decided to get this one.The pad is excellent quality. I immediately was able to do squats as the pad sat comfortably on my shoulder blades. The velcro stays on very well and has shown no signs of wear. For me, this is a great product that has greatly increased my ability to work out without breaking the bank. As many know, strength training can get rather pricey once you start looking at different methods of working out.5 stars for quality and price.

Valeo pad
As almost everyone else that gave this item a positive review, it's a good buy. The price is cheaper compared to other brands on Amazon. The quality is right on point and I could tell that this item will last. It fit perfectly on my 2" Olympic bar and doesn't budge while in use. The foam pad under the material was very plush and comfortable. The velcro stays bonded very well which keeps it from sliding around the bar. No need to spend more than you need to. Highly recommend for squats.

It's helping...
I got this for squatting. I'm not a meathead, so I'm not squatting hundreds of pounds. I usually do about 150lbs. This helps. I have proper technique, but I don't care what anyone says... the bar hurts. This helps a little, although it doesn't provide AMAZING padding. I found another barbell pad on Amazon which was supposed to be extra thick and everyone said was the best one, but I didn't want to spend $37 on that pad. I got this instead.First time I used it I noticed it BARELY fits around the bar at Planet Fitness. It does fit, but not by much. I did 4 sets of squats that day, and on 3 it stayed put but on 1 of the sets the velcro did come apart and it started to fall off. I might not have been careful with it. Once you get situated it should stay put, but if you aren't positioned properly and readjust yourself, this thing may come undone.

but it's good enough, and can't beat the price
I use this on an olympic barbell as I assume most people would. I doesn't quite fit, the Velcro closure is never quite closed, but it's good enough, and can't beat the price. The padding used is strong enough to still provide good cushioning with heavy loads, or heavy for me which is 220 for squats. Compared to the rolled up towel I was using before this pad is great. I would buy it again if I lost mine,or if it ever wears out. I can't see it wearing out for a at least a year of regular use.

Just barely fits the Olympic bars
Pros:1) NOT super thick to the point that it would shift the weight of the bar too far from you and become dangerous or uncomfortable.2) Short enough for me to transport in my sling bag.3) Cushy in that gel sort of way but still gives you enough feedback from the firmness of the bar.Cons:1) Barely fits over a standard 45 pound Olympic bar with the velcro barely holding together. It hasn't come off or been an issue for me, but definitely be aware of the possibility of it coming off if you were to randomly shoot in under the bar during a squat with no awareness of which way the opening is facing.2) Slightly thicker than I would like. I wish it was maybe 1/8 or 1/4 inch thinner. Note that I mostly use this for squats and only squat about 155 pounds, so it may not be compressing the gel to the ideal thinness. My solution will be to get beastlier so I can put more weight on it.In terms of propioceptive feedback, not using a pad is best. You get direct feel and control of the bar. However, I'm a thin guy who does fairly high weights for my size. This means that the metal bar is practically scraping my bones and that's no bueno. Ideally, this pad should be thinner, but it's certainly not silly stupid thick like some "foamcore" pads. This is a gel-type pad.For the price I would highly recommend if you are a casual to intermediate lifter and want to preserve your skeleton or just want some comfort.

It Works Perfectly
It's a bar pad; it is what it is. This one functions as it's intended to. It eliminates the unpleasantness of using just the bar to do squats.Construction is good, and the one-piece nature of it is very convenient. The width is ok for me, but if you have very broad shoulders, you'll probably want a wider pad (it's about sixteen inches wide). As for fitment, I have an Olympic bar, and it fits perfectly. The best part is that it doesn't move freely around the bar as some pads do. Set it where you want it, and it will stay put throughout all of your sets; no sliding around or rotating to where the connection point is on your shoulders.

2 stars
it provides a modicum of comfort during weighted glute bridges/hip thrusts (which is why it gets 2 stars instead of 1). it's pretty useless during squats. the pad will roll (i have a standard bar) and the velcro is weak and does not hold shut during reps. i attempted to use it like 5 or 6 times during squats and it somehow managed to roll just so that the scratchy slit was in direct contact with my skin or clothing every. single. time. irritating in more ways than one. plus sometimes it would start to split off the bar before i could even complete my reps. i'll probably still use it during my glute bridges, but i really can't recommend this product.

nice padding, but packing a big flaw,...
I gave the Valeo Barbell Pad 3 stars because it's padded to perfection. The problem I do have with it is the way it's designed to stay on the barbell. The pad is cut in half lengthwise, which is expected. The problem is the way it's ''supposed'' to stay on.There's a thin strip of Velcro on both sides of the split. When you put the 2 edges together it holds the pad on the bar. Fine,...works great. That's until you put it on your shoulders to do squats. The Velcro separates, and the pad splits open. The bar is now resting on you naked - with no padding at all.I'm currently using broccoli rubber bands to keep the pad closed and in place. Totally not what I expected, especially after all the shining reviews. Disappointing to say the least,...

Fantastic
I use this for squatting, and it is great. You have to be careful not to have side that it connects to on your back or it will fall off. Besides that it is a great product

Decent and works well
I find this pad works well most of the time. I use it for squats with a barbell, and it is certainly more comfortable than the bar alone - usually. From time to time the pad will rotate to wear the Velcro seam rest on my shoulders and the weight of the bar will cause it to open, this is very uncomfortable and verges on painful when it happens - generally in the middle of a lift. Now, in fairness, if I pay close attention to location of the seam before I position myself it works great, but thought it worth mentioning.

happy with this purchase
Satisfying for the price. Doesn't close completely but, stays on bar and, does the job. Overall, happy with this purchase.
