Temple [DVD]

This is an amazing story and believable - how far a man would go for love. Mark Strong's character guides one through to the bitter end, assisted by good casting. I am hoping there will be a series 2 as it has left us all wondering - 'What Happens Now?' It has whet my appetite for a follow-up; which only goes to tell you how much I recommend this 2-DVD set (3 episodes on each) full of a moving episode in a surgeon's life, who is such a good man that others may not understand his motives for his actions. His co-star Daniel Mays is a great foil but a complex character. I thought the way the storyline takes one back in time, then back to the present, in order to explain exactly why this man has chosen this course, was useful. Watch it, love it and pray .... there is another series! Please.

I can't decide if I am sad or angry. But I am definitely disappointed. This series is just not up to the usual British standard. Far-fetched, even ridiculous plot without moral compass, cursory, paper thin characters and shallow dialogues. Even the acting is completely disappointing. Carice von Houden and Mark Strong are bland and unconvincing. There were moments I couldn’t take it any longer and was considering fast forward only to see how it ends, hoping they will all kill each other or end up in prison. I’m giving it two stars only because I don’t believe it is a serious drama, maybe a black comedy?

We enjoyed the story despite it's improbability but did not like the excessive effing and blinding. Swearing is ok when it it is used to make a point but we felt this was too much. We liked the Underground location. Inevitably the series ended with little resolution, Series 2 to follow, not sure I want to buy although Mark Strong plays a blinder.

Please please please let there be another series. Brilliant!!!!

Watched on plane journey, really really good. A must watch!

I bough this out of curiousity as Mark Strong is such a fine actor.A very unusual story and it grips you from the start, look forward to the next season.Daniel Mays also has a fine part in the series.

Very interesting and quite a different film from the ones we get now. Give us some more of these very clever films. Thank you !!!

I am sorry but we found this series quite depressing and not worth watching. We have always enjoyed Mark Strong's performances but found this dark dismal setting under the railway really awful. Won't bother to watch the remaining episodes. Sorry Mark.
