Work as advertised
Easy to use. Lear definition. Have it on all the time in the boat.

It delivers on most of what itโs supposed to do.
Took it to use on Norfork lane Arkansas. Worked extremely well around shoreline. But did not do well on water out in open. The map did not match the depth of water to map. Did not show shallow humps well at all. Either Humminbird map did not match actual or the card did not show it for what it really was. Was happy but not satisfied with the way it performed.

Works but had some issues
Received item and inserted into my new Helix 7 Chirp Mega SI G3. It had a software version 1.94, which is high enough according to the documentation of 1.2 , but don't believe that.I had to upgrade the 2.33 to get it to work at all. Once the unit is upgraded, you can see the smartstrike menu. It will be called "Humminbird Legacy" in the map list. That confused me. It's best to leave that on auto, then scroll down the chart menu and select your lake. After you run a search, you can hit menu twice and switch back to "Humminbird Basemap" if you prefer that map, which I do because it has less contour clutter, and you will still see your smartstrike areas in pink. One thing that also threw me...at a high level view of the lake, you will see large pink square fish icons. Once you zoom in tight enough, they switch to the actual fishable areas. I docked this product review a star because of the poor or missing documentation, and the quirkiness of using it. Once you figure it out, it is hopefully a good enough tool.

Not worth the money
It does great lighting areas by depth up but im not sure its worth the money of 100$

A necessary addition to a Humminbird unit.
If you have a Humminbird fish finder, you really need to get this chip. The preloaded maps are decent, don't get me wrong, but the LakeMaster chip is a whole different experience. The depth readings are in 1 foot increments rather than 5 foot like on the preloaded map, and the LakeMaster team is meticulous in detailing the lakes on the map chip. You get a much MUCH improved view of depth changes, creek and river bed channels, If you get the Smartstrike chip, you also get high percentage areas on your fish finder of whatever species you are fishing for, be it bass, crappie, catfish, etc. At first I thought this may be a bit of overkill, but it is worth the purchase price to get the precision of the maps, especially if you are on a new lake and are unsure of the depth changes. Run up on a rocky hump in the middle of a lake at 30mph and you will appreciate the difference in mapping technology.

Extremely detailed maps
Be sure to purchase the maps for your area, and update your unit before installation of the chip. After that is done, you are ready to find all the creek swings, humps, and dips your heart desires. Extremely satisfied, tight lines.
