Mission Bay is a unique model within the Nautica watch collection: its see-through dial makes it possible to fully appreciate the Japanese automatic movement behind it. The watch's sophisticated design features a gray stainless steel top ring with slide rule. This box set includes two silicone straps, one in orange and the other in blue. A screw-down crown completes this 100-meter water-resistant watch.

Quite a positive Surprise
I've been collecting watches for 10 or 15 years--almost all automatics and pure mechanicals. I would never have thought to buy a Nautica watch, but when I saw this on Amazon and looked into it a bit, I decided to take a flier on it.Boy am I glad I did! The watch keeps great time. It's a perfect size for me at 46MM. The lume is pretty decent for this price point. I really like that it works as both a diver (although only 100 meters, so not a "True" dive watch) and a pilot watch (reminds me of the Seiko Spork in that respect--but this watch has a much better movement!) I found an orange paratrooper strap for it that I think really makes it pop. I haven't tried it on with either of the rubber straps but they seem to be of good quality.Anyway, the most important thing to me about any watch is--Do I enjoy wearing it? And I definitely enjoy wearing this one! I recently showed it to a close friend and fellow watch collector and he liked it as well.So far so good! If you are wearing the larger 45MM and up watches I don't think you'll be disappointed with this one. Enjoy!

Interesting Bezel(s?)
The bezel with the logarithmic slide rule scale rotates smoothly, and the cursor is mounted on a separate bi-directional 120-click track. The strange aspect is you only get 1/120th of a sweep of resolution for the cursor making it a bit silly for use in making more careful adjustments, in my opinion. Also as for when it would happen to align precisely where you would want it, it's not a particularly helpful as a sight guide. In my experience it just frequently gets in the way of what you would want to read. That being said, the discrete steps the cursor is forced to take offers a neat trick to approximate logarithms and rational exponentiation. This will be left as an exercise to the reader.
