Great Quality even for a Martial Arts Instructor
I bought this for a friend who does kung fu religiously. As a kid, he did martial arts for many years before quitting in college. Ten years later, he decided to pick it up again and began hardcore training about 7-8 hours a day. He became so dedicated to the institute that they asked him to begin working there as a martial arts instructor. So, he knows his stuff! He is picky about his weapons because the owner of the institute he is at trained in the mountains in China, and has his own personal collection of weapons from the monastery in China. Upon receiving this, he was so ecstatic! He said this really is the real deal, and was so surprised that this quality weapon came from Amazon. He has been training with it for a couple months now and the weight of the weapon is really perfect. It gives enough weight to be able to propel perfectly and is very accurate. It also makes great noise which is supposed to keep a sort of rhythm during training and he never gets tired of training with it. There are really no cons to the item, but two things to note.-Be really careful because it may not seem so heavy, but even a small motion/bump will probably leave a bruise. But, practice makes perfect and just expect a few bruises if you are new to the weapon.-I would check the links to the chain. They were all pretty set for the most part but one link was a little open so we just used pliers to squeeze it shut. It probably wouldn't have opened/broke but we just wanted to be safe. The institute has mirror walls and the meteor hammer would have broke the entire wall of mirrors if it were to have flown off.I highly recommend this to anyone!

Explosive chi power.
Seems sturdy enough to play with and learn this fascinating weapon. I put mine up against cardboard and wood targets -- caused tiny dents in the meteor. Probably normal for chrome plated cold rolled steel. Can find stainless steel meteors on the web, and they may or may not be harder.

Not professional
It's only ok. It's not solid so it will crack if you do hard overhead hammer strike.

And I thought the whipchain was bad
I received the meteor hammer less than a week ago and I already had to use it.Someone tried to steal my bike off of the front of the bus I was riding one night. I jumped of the bus, pulling the weapon out of my back pocket and swinging it towards the theif. In response to him looking back running with my bike, he tripped and dropped the bike, so he ran off. But that wasn't the end. As I tried to get my bike out of the street, him and another guy surrounded me, so I began to swing the weapons above my head in defense. It kept them away until someone came and got them. They had to be like 19, 20 and I'm 16, 5"7, 137lbs. I'm nothing to mess with. That experience has made me a "rope-chain renegade"But other than that, I love this thing and I'm gonna order a second before this month is over.
