Even More Colorful And Passionate LIVE !!!
Corinne Bailey Rae (along with Amy Winehouse) was the first singer to usher me into the deep talent pool of overseas R&B/soul singers. Before her debut album I hardly payed any attention to anyone across the waters. At least not as much attention as I do now.Corinne Bailey Rae is an enchanting and mesmerizing figure both in music and style. Every single time I play this live set (as well as her debut album) I feel hypnotized by the artistry and subtleness to the songs. It's natural yet engaging, steady but fast paced and rhythmic. The songwriting is so real that it's unreal that she can capture all these emotions and situations perfectly. The live set is no different from the retail album. It has some crowd reactions and the live songs are a little bit different from the studio versions (what real musicians do when they perform live) and it's a nonstop groove. This is one of the best live sets I own ranking up there with Erykah Badu, Sade, and Jill Scott's live albums. A DVD of a different live performance than that on the cd is also bundled with the package and because I don't have a great surround system for my tv I have no insight to how it sounds with a good system. When I turn it up on my TV it sounds terrible just as it should sound because it's tv speakers. This excellent set is highly recommended. 5 stars.

Simply Beautiful
I was introduced to Corinne Bailey Rae's music by a friend of mine recently. It's not often you listen to an artist for the first time and feel you've known them for a very long time. Miss Rae is one of those artists for me. She puts her heart and soul into every song she sings.I purchased Live In London & New York the first day it was available and quite frankly will probably wear my DVD player out in short order. The DVD has 2 sound tracks. Dolby 5.1 and stereo. Needless to say the 5.1 audio is excellent. I haven't tryed the stereo track yet.The video production is superb. I am not a fan of some of the producers who feel they must change scenes every 1/2 second or so along with more views of the audience than of the performer. This DVD has none of that. It's as if each scene change was thought out before hand choosing just the right angle to show. There are many close-ups of Miss Rae and the excellent lighting brings out her beautiful eyes and sincere smile. She has a full compliment of musicians backing her up. I was very impressed with "Since I've been Loving You" written by Led Zeppelin.I also enjoyed the documentary which gives you an insight into what inspired each song that Miss Rae wrote. The 4 music videos are an added bonus which I thoroughly enjoyed not to mention the live CD recorded in New York. All in all you can't go wrong making this purchase.

Transporting!
These delightful live recordings of Corinne Bailey Rae are my favorites of the year! As a longtime fan of classic soul, rock, and jazz, I'm thrilled to find a contemporary artist who draws on those traditions while creating something completely new and honest of her own. Corinne's intimate and beautiful vocals are supported by background vocalists who sound like oil poured through sugar, one slammin' band, and on the DVD, symphonic strings and the funky Haggis Horns. The entire production is first class all the way around. The most important thing I can say is that every time I listen to this, it makes me happy. Can't wait to hear what CBR does next!

I really like this DVD!
I tend to reserve 5 star opinions of music performances for Brahms. (and only good Brahms at that). There are no groundbreaking compositions here- just good songs- all of them are good- a high percentage of them are memorably good- her voice is just right...better than the studio versions, I think. The sound is really good, and so's the band. The video looks good...I thought hard about spending $25 for songs that I already had, but I'm glad I did. here's my only gripe... the backing vocals in "Choux Pastry Heart" weren't loud enough. If that's MY only gripe- that's really good!

A Future Music Super Talent
As youthful as she is, Ms. Rae has the poise, sophistication and soul of seasoned performer. Yet, she balances that with charm and innocence. Her singing voice cannot be matched. The almost perfect control of her modulation, pitch, timing, and range are evident from her choice of material. The only difficulty I have is: what musical genre is she in? The choices of songs in this album cover, jazz, blues, soul, ballad, pop,... With the musical talent she has developed and trained, I hope Ms. Rae continues to develop her gifts, as both a singer and songwriter, so more and more people will appreciate this wonderful artist.

Like A Star, amd actually the whole CD and video are great. I recommend that you give it a listen. It's real laid back.

Corinne Bailey Rae Live in London & New York
Great music but a strange 'dvd'. The New York concert is not a video but music only. The London concert is a Video.
