Great Value & Good Performance
I purchased this supply to replace a failing Powmax 400 Watt power supply in my old Pentium 4 3GHz system. I was concerned that this supply might not accomodate my legacy connectors (IDE, Floppy, 20-pin ATX). The Coolmaster Elite 400 Watt supply plugged up to everything with connectors to spare, including all three IDE drives and two SATA drives in my tower case. The supply voltages as measured with the Asus Probe utility are well within 5% tolerance and very stable. In fact it gave me enough confidence to try out overclocking the Asus P4C800-E motherboard and Northwood Pentium 4 3GHz. I only increased the clock and Vcore by 10%, but it now runs flawlessly at 3.3 GHz with no overheating or other issues. Even with five drives in my system AND overclocked 10% the power supply fan runs very quiet.I'll report back here if I have any problems, but so far so good! With the 10 rebate this supply only cost me 23.63, but it's well worth the full price.

Easy Install, Whisper Quiet
My power supply had gone out, and I needed one quickly, and one that wouldn't break the bank.Did some research and found this one.So far I haven't had any issues with it, and it was pretty easy to install, even for someone who isn't a "techie" (as evidenced by my use of the word "techie").Great value, and my computer runs a lot better...almost as though the factory installed power supply didn't offer enough juice. Who knows? Could be psychosomatic. To be honest, I did this review because Amazon sent me an email, and I feel an obligation to respond, due to the fact that I have free Prime for a year, as a student. Why the obligation? Law of Reciprocity. If you want to learn more about it, pick up Robert Cialdini's "Influence". Found Here --> Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion (Collins Business Essentials)

Works great, pretty quiet
Works great, pretty quiet. A bit overkill for the mITX build I used it for, but I was thinking for the future. I would have given it a 5 star rating, but the amazon description said this was a partial modular psu, which it is not. So it worked out to be ok for the case I bought, but it is not ideal for a mITX build.

Good Replacement PSU
I bought this to replace a failed power supply unit (PSU) in an otherwise stock minitower desktop computer. That computer, like most stock desktops from major manufacturers, came with a much less powerful PSU. When replacing a PSU, I always get something more powerful, for two reasons: One is that OEM PSUs are notorious for having very little reserve capacity, which means that adding more memory, a second drive or even plugging in too many USB devices can render the computer unstable or even unable to boot. The other is that low-capacity 3rd-party PSUs tend to be poorly made and unreliable. (In fact, most PSUs rated at less than 700W tend to be poorly made and unreliable, but this one has done reasonably well in reviews published by well-regarding sites such as JonnyGURU, and also in at least one of my clients' PCs.)You can expect this PSU to work out nicely for stock minitower desktops that haven't been modified much. Note that if you're upgrading a computer's video system or adding other power-hungry components, then this is NOT the PSU for you; you should be looking at something more powerful. One other caveat: Many manufacturers play a bit loosey-goosey in terms of the standard ATX form factor, often leaving barely enough room for the PSU, or adding case elements, such as latching systems, that make it difficult to fit a 3rd party PSU. I've often found that a 500+W replacement PSU to be a tight fit, and I've sometimes had to remove components in order to install a PSU this size. So measure your old PSU and the amount of space allotted for it in the case, and compare it to the dimensions of this one before buying to avoid unpleasant surprises.Speaking of fit, you can expect this PSU to fit in minitower and most microtower cases. It almost certainly will not fit in small form factor, ultra-small form factor and tiny desktops. I also found out - the hard way - that this and other standard ATX PSUs don't work in at least some HP Z series workstations; those require proprietary PSUs. I'm not sure about other manufacturers' high-end workstations.

THIS IS NOT A 550 WATT POWER SUPPLY
This is NOT a 550W power supply! This is completely false advertising. In reality, the three main rails combined only output 485 W max, making it completely unusable for my setup (see attached picture showing the power output table). I specifically bought this product because I was misled into believing it was a 550W power supply, and was extremely disappointed to find out that that is a complete lie. It took me a long time to figure out that this was the problem - my computer unexpectedly shut down multiple times during high-power processes, risking damage to all the other components in the system. Long story short, if you actually need 550W of power, do NOT buy this power supply.

Great for builds W/O case windows or as a drop in replacement
The power supply works as intended, BUT if you are going to be doing a build with a window... Save yourself the money and get a power supply that has wrapped cables, black cables, or is modular. If you had a build that did not have a window this power supply would be fine since you would never have to look at it. That was my one and only gripe with this psu.

Good price? Check. Good product? Check.
After seeing an Antec PSU being sold for almost $20 more (after tax) in retail stores, I decided to shop around online; especially considering the said Antec unit provided 50 fewer watts and a smaller fan than this CM here! That being said, this is an excellent buy, and the 460W version being sold here is too. On the other hand, if you have a gaming rig/high-end system, even the 460W model most likely won't provide enough juice for your gear.Otherwise, Cooler Master is a good brand, and this is an excellent price for this unit! Just take note of your system's needs before purchasing, as 400W in this day and age is not considered a lot of power.

LOUD
Very noisy, fans would come on and spin up to max speed while CPU was only running at half utilization. I have another 550 watt PSU that is silent even during CPU torture/burn-in tests.

Power supply works perfect in my computer
Power supply works perfect in my computer. No problems. It was well packaged and has everything needed. Looks exactly like the pictures. Well built from a great company. If you're looking for protection from power failures this can help but it shouldn't be your only protection. Get a UPS with this and you should be fine. Anytime I need power I go with cool master and it usually outlives the computer.

Good
Works great. Quiet. Not modular which I expected. The cables are very long so would be good for a tall tower case. Got it on sale so it was a great buy.
