When I first ordered my copy of Spiritual Wanderlust, I prophetically announced: “I will savor it in the days to come like Babette’s Feast (one of the most profoundly spiritual stories out there). I’ve no intention of swallowing it whole like a Happy Meal, as there is no fast-food lane for soul.”And a feast it was. Although you can read it in a single day, I chose to sit with it during lexico divina. Nothing like a long languorous chew during a divine meal. It’s not the kind of book you want to race through like a detective novel, as every page flows with wisdom –wisdom the author has gained from her own life experience and from the words of her friends, Augustine and John of the Cross.Spiritual Wanderlust is a must-read for all who hunger for what is authentic and Real. Richard Rohr was right in saying, “Kelly has a gift for making deep truths edible." Spiritual Wanderlust is a soul-nourishing and delectable read.

A must-read for anyone experiencing the ache for the Infinite. Kelly does an amazing job guiding readers in identifying The Longing, explaining why we have it, and what to do with it. How she managed to find the words to describe such a sublime experience that occurs in the heart and soul is beyond me. While this book is a page turner, I do recommend reading it slowly to embrace or rather be embraced by, the beautiful truth it contains.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It describes precisely what I have been asking God about, I can even remember how many years now. And it was so timely too, must love the Holy Spirit! I didn't give 5 star rating because of one suggestion in the book that has me apprehensive of recommending it to anyone and everyone which is what I usually do when I find a treasure such is this. Since I have seen the result of experimenting and dabbling in other religions first hand and it was not pleasant and it continues to persist in one person's life. I admit that is something I need to take to prayer.

The author uses the wisdom of the mystics while inviting us to explore our own hearts in the hopes of a glimpse of the pathway to the Divine. Very easy and enjoyable to read. Very difficult to put down.

Anyone looking to go deeper will benefit from this book. Very easy and enjoyable read with tons of beautiful and inspired points to ponder that will draw you deeper in love with God.

This book is a rewarding journey through the interior life. It provides helpful insights into the deepest desires of our hearts and the search for an authentic relationship with the divine. Kelly weaves her own personal story with the mystical traditions of Augustine and John of the Cross. This book could be a great benefit for those inside and outside the margins of the church. It has a beautiful universal appeal that speaks from the heart.

This is a very good book about interior, spiritual exploration ( of oneself) on several levels. The author treats this very personal subject in an affable way, and has a candid and easy-going vernacular. What is a surprise and a joy to see is that she takes two very learned men of religious Christian history, Augustine and John of the Cross, veritable doctors of the church ( that translates into two men who are hard to understand when reading their original works) and breaks down the foundations they were trying to teach and expose about spiritual growth; the longing involved that propels us into the conscious spiritual journey of life. She takes this subject down lively river of discourse for several chapters and places the prize of the spiritual life at the reader's threshold , begging to be stepped across into eternal (conscious) grace that awaits. An excellent book on 'spiritual grappling' with that which is known, and is yet unknown.

I enjoyed this book immensely, because the author's humorand integrity shine throughout. This book is an intenseguide to spiritual growth, contemplative prayer, andunion with Christ. The wisdom of Augustine and St. Johnof the Cross are made accessible to every day readers likeme. I read into the night, finishing the book in one sitting.I will read it again, more slowly and meditatively.

This book is beautiful. It explores with insight what that ache or yearning is that often captures us. It then teases out what it is and how we might start to understand and fulfil the yearning. Very insightful and satisfying read

Beautifully articulated. The deep desire, the journey to going 'deeper', to push harder and experience the ecstasy to connection to a most loving God.

This is an excellent little book. I found it easy to read and full of wisdom; its deceptively deep and so full of sources.
