I hate it but I use it
Make no mistake about it - I absolutely hate this thing. It is a piece of cheap plastic Made-In-China junk and is an admirable test for anyone with only two hands or a medium to high frustration level. You may need to take up yoga after using this thing. Dexterity issues of any kind? Look elsewhere. But, I'm using it and haven't returned it, so I'll grudgingly give it 3 stars.I grow summer squash, and, like most squash growers, get far more than I can use. Last year, I blanched and froze my excess, but didn't really like the texture when I used it. So, I have a very nice 10 tray Weston dehydrator and thought I'd try dehydrating it instead for the winter months. Much less space, doesn't require refrigeration, etc.I did a test dehydrator run, using the 'thick' blade and ended up with what appeared to be green sewing thread. Totally confident of an epic fail, I decided to soak some, chop it and use it in my morning beans on toast. Imagine my surprise when it rehydrated to a proper thickness, and, even more shocking, tasted great! The dehydration process seemed to have intensified the 'zucchini-ness' of the squash and it even had an agreeable, chewable texture. So, I'm going to use this thing if it kills me.The pros - I like the dehydrated/rehydrated squash. It is pretty easy to wash.Cons - everything else. The rubber suction cup absolutely does not work. To say the suction cup sucks is problematic, but it is truly worthless. This means that you have to hold the gizmo down at the same time you are trying to crank the handle and push it all forward, but not too quickly. It is, as others have said, a job for at least 3 arms if not more. If you have a pet octopus, it's time to train it...This also works only with squash of a certain thickness. Too thick, and the holder thing just grinds into the middle seed pocket without turning the squash into the blades. Too small, and you lose all of your product to the middle section that results from the front holder part.One of my intended uses is to do my fresh beets, but I'm not sure that it will be able to do that without someone helping hold the thing down. The blades are sharp, but maybe not sharp enough to do beets without some forward pressure. But, you can't easily apply forward pressure because you are cranking a wobbly rear crank, and trying to hold the thing down on the counter. But, it is only a few days until I can start harvesting some beets, and i'll know soon.Although the resulting 'spaghetti' is kind of fun, and it tastes good, I'd only recommend this to people with a lot of patience and aliens from other planets with more than 2 arms.

Totally worth getting this. Great buy for 20 bucks
I love this! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is because you do need to have a certain amount of upper body strength to use the product. Granted, I have a physical disability and am in a wheelchair, and for me personally, I do not have a great deal of upper body strength and so for me personally (and I emphasize that this is just my individual experience, that of course upper body strength greatly varies with people in wheelchairs.) that I "felt the burn". So, in that sense this might double as physical therapy ha ha. But I was able to use it. Also, it does what it says it will, and unlike the original veggetti, this uses up more of the food. I had the original veggetti and I was wasting 1/4th of the food, and if the zucchini (as an example) was too thick, then it wouldn't fit, but this not a problem with the veggetti pro. In fact, I actually tried it out on an apple, which would have NEVER fit in the original veggetti, so I am super pleased with how many more things I make into noodles and what not. (I'm think apple "noodles" would be a great based for a dessert. Is that just me?)At one point, I thought I broke it because the bit that has the handle, slid right off the track and I thought "oh great." but no, it's supposed to come off as that is how you can clean it and store it. Also it's much easier to clean than the original veggetti.The only tips I would give is1.) Make sure that the food you are using is firm, as if it is starting to get a bit soft, it may not stay put in the holders2.) The blades are sharper than they look and if you are not careful, you will nip your fingers. This could be fun to do with kids, but definitely adult supervised and they should not handle the blades (unless said adult thinks they can handle it lol). Nipping your fingers is not inevitable though.Granted, I haven't tried the more expensive versions of spiralizers, but for 20 bucks this is great. It comes with 3 blades so you can make super thin noodles, thicker noodles and then this third blade that makes ribbons (which I haven't used yet but I am sure it will come in handy). and I definitely recommend getting it.P.S. the photo is the first dish I made with the veggetti pro. It was soooo good. It was 1 yellow squash in a green pea sauce with garlic salt. This is another benefit of having this. This dish literally took me minutes to make, is super healthy for you, and was super delicious. I can't wait to further explore various sauces. It comes with a recipe book to by the way though I haven't looked at that yet.

Oodles and Oodles of Zoodles!!!! Edit: still great 2 years later!
I was a bit worried about the reviews that explained that the unit was unwieldy on the countertop, but I'm glad to report that the very large suction cup underneath the unit works great if you have a smooth surface. If your surface is not really smooth, it won't work at all. So if you have a countertop with a textured feel to it (like some of the laminate ones) it will not attach itself at all.Once attached, my 8 year old has a blast making large piles of zoodles. The center hole in this is kind of big, but when making zucchini we've been using this to our advantage as we take the long centers and sprinkle some olive oil, garlic salt and parmesan on them and throwing them in a toaster oven for a bit to make a garlicy "breadstick" to go with our pasta.The tines on the slicer are rather thin but they are effective. However for less than $30 it's perfectly acceptable, and it'sno more difficult to clean than any other grater. A spray head in your sink will get most of it off, especially if you do it before anything has tried to the head. Getting the heads on and off are easy and the rest of it can be wiped down easily. I wouldn't recommend putting the whole thing in the dishwasher as you don't want the rubber suction cup to degrade.All and all I'm really glad I bought this as it makes having an Italian night really easy for those doing low carb, and presenting the kids veggies as a noodle gets them eating more green vegetables than I've ever been able to in one sitting (they ask for seconds just like they do with regular pasta!)Edit: Wanted to say it's still working great 2 years later. Suction cup still works too. Love it, use it at least 2-3 times a month.

Still playing around with this. So far, I've had success with zucchini noodles, using the Thick Spiral blade. It actually made long noodles from zucchini! Tried using the Ribbon Cut blade on carrots but without great success. Kept getting short spiral slices instead of long strands I was hoping for. The machine has an odd way of coring the vegetable as you go along, and you end up with a long piece of core and a bit of vegetable at the end. A bit wasteful, or you could chop it up and toss it into your recipe anyway if you're not too particular about the visuals. Comes with a nice little booklet of recipes that look pretty good - haven't tried them yet. Bit of a pain to clean up because you have to be extremely careful of the very sharp blades and the spikey bit that holds the veggie. I use an old toothbrush to clean them. Also you need to clean off the whole machine from juice and veggie bits so I take the two stored blades out before using so I don't have to rinse and air-dry them too. Still trying to figure out a way to fasten the machine down too because I have a kitchen counter-top made of smallish tiles which aren't big enough for the big suction cup to attach to really well. (How about that kitchen reno, Hubby?!) Someone made a YouTube video on how to use this thing and they cleverly had it in a baking pan or cookie sheet. Great idea as the machine makes quite a mess. Only now you need to figure a way to keep the pan from sliding across your counter...

Vive les spaghettis de courgettes!
Assez facile à utiliser. Plus facile à utiliser avec certains légumes: excellent pour la courgette mais tâche quasi impossible pour les carottes. C'est génial de pouvoir manger la courgette sous forme de spaghetti: on peut les servir comme des pâtes, en faire des quiches ou des frittatas. Je n'ai pas essayer encore avec le chou. C'est dommage que le centre du légume devienne un petit rouleau. Cet outil devrait durer assez longtemps si on s'en sert seulement de temps en temps. Dans l'ensemble, je suis satisfaite de mon achat.

Easy to use
Surprisingly my family loved zucchini noodles! The spiralizer was easy to use and made for a very quick and yummy dinner.

Love it!!!
I just love this spiralizer. Comes fully assembled. Easy to use. Just as described. I use it to spiralize zucchini as a replacement for pasta. I've used it about three times now and it works great! Arrived on time and great price. Would not hesitate recommending to friends and family.
