The people writing bad reviews on this lens are expecting it to do something it isn’t designed to do. Look at the two images compared side-by-side in the DESCRIPTION FROM THE MANUFACTURER!!!!!!! It isn’t a zoom lens, it’s designed to make an image look natural, not curved at the top and bottom. It DOES narrow your view to what one might call tunnel vision, so you need to know how to crop in post production. This lens does EXACTLY what it was designed to do, and anyone buying it needs to understand what that is. The yahoos giving it only one star are dolts. Don’t listen to them. Download some free software which allows you to crop your images and your video and you’ll be happy with this very inexpensive, quality-built purchase.

This should not be pictured with a GoPro. Although this can be used on a goPro, it is not practical. the lens is larger than the camera, and the weight is more as well. I checked every option on my Hero 4 black and Hero 4 silver. every image is a black rectangle with the image appearing inside a circle that is completely inside the rectangle. This is actually a very well made glass lens with a nice mount for the GoPro, but unless you can live with a circular image, I only use this for some other type of camera.This is a well made device for the price, but it should not be advertised with a GOPRO, unless they show you what the image looks like.[...]

This product is crap! I didn't open it up and try it out right away, I bought it for an upcoming vacation and didn't check it out until I was packing for it so by the time I returned from my vacation the 30 day return time was up :( Which sucks since this lens is crap, picture quality sucks and you can see the inside of the lens frame in any pictures or video you take!!! There is also no zoom, just fyi. Seriously don't waste your money!

Got this accessory for a trip to South Africa, and all I can say is that its just not worth a darn. There is a very noticeable and hard to clip out, area of black. Just ruined the pics, basically. Zoom after processing was garbage - like this lens is. Save your $.

I don't know if its worth it to carry something the size of the camera to get just 2X, but it works, so I can't complain. The adaptor and the lenses both seem to be good quality, especially the price.

it is made of good studry matirals, fits securly to camara quick and easy but it gives you tunnel vision but clear pictures so crop them. I have not tryed it with vidio yet but I figure I will get the sae resultes it is what it is for the price

The Good news.1. If you can overlook the problems, you can get some nice compressed shots.2. It's $193. The lens itself is well madeThe Bad news.1. The review comments about the lens here appear to be about it's use on Nikon cameras. Not on GoPro cameras.2. Lens mounts on Go Pro Hero 3+ Standard Housing only. Not on any Housing showing screws.3. Lens adaptor is plastic. Adaptor screws are metal that quickly strips the plastic mounting threads.4. Shooting GoPro Wide produces images that look like they came down a shotgun barrel.5. Shooting GoPro Medium produces images that look like they came down a bazooka.6. Shooting GoPro Narrow produces images with 15-20% of image showing lens7. Unless your editing system allows for cropping shots, you're going to be getting weird looking footage.8. Somebody's going to be coming up with a telephoto adaptor actually made for the GoPro pretty soon.There's too many GoPro cameras out there that could use a good telephoto lens right now.I, for one, would really love to see one from PolarPro. Sadly, they seem busy doing other things right now
