Seems to work
Buying off-brand batteries can be a real crap-shoot. These came with the indicators showing a full charge. with a first use on the orbital sander they ran dead quickly. After a proper recharge they ran much, much longer than the shipping full charge. I have not done any scientific side-by-side comparison with name brand Ryobi batteries, I ain't got no time for that. But they seem to work well enough. They do supply the extra amperage necessary for your power hungry tools to perform at peak performance. I'm Talking about a circular saw cutting 2" inch thick wood over a 60 inch distance... no bog-down or slow-down for that matter. Tools or applications that do not need high power can get by on the smaller batteries.

WE HAVE A PROBLEM HERE!!! TESTED THIS BATTERIES CAPACITY AND IT FAILS HORRIBLY. CAN'T TRUST SELLER!
This battery is advertised as a replacement for 40V Ryobi tools rated with a 6 Amp Hour capacity. (Ryobi should really be calling these batteries 36V, This is the nominal Voltage for the pack of 10S2P lithium 186550 cells, MARKETING). Each 18650 cell in these packs are 3.6 volts nominal.I charged the pack fully and did note that the battery pack did have a working over-voltage protection that activated when the battery exceeded 42.2 Volts, which is great. This should help prevent the pack from overcharging and catching on fire...TESTING: Then I proceeded to load test the battery pack on my DC electronic load and this is when I learned that this battery has some major problems. The battery is advertised and sold as having a capacity of 6.0 Amp Hours (6.0Ah), but unfortunately the test results fall very short of this value! The test revealed that this battery pack after being fully charged, and then gently discharged at 2.00 amps per hour (this should have been a 0.33C discharge rate for a 6.0Ah battery pack), the test should have lasted over 3 hours, but the test completed in 1.5 hours with results that showed this battery pack could only provided 3.15 Amp Hours of capacity, or 53% of its rated capacity. For the capacity test the battery was fully charged to 42.1 volts and then discharged @ 2.00 amps per hour until the pack voltage reached 30 volts, which is the voltage where the battery packs are supposed to turn off its output to protect the battery cells from damaged and of being over discharged. This is incredibly horrible results for a brand new battery pack that is advertised to provide 6.0 Amp Hour capacity, in fact they are only giving you 53% of the promised power. With any new lithium battery pack, that has been freshly and fully charged, should provide you with typically +5% or maybe even +10% of its rated capacity, which will decay over time and use. Just for instance I tested my original 4.0Ah Ryobi battery pack that is now 2.5 years old, and it is still providing 3.79Ah, or 95% of its original rated capacity. That is the difference between quality and Chinese low quality junk. Now how could this have happened? Perhaps they accidentally sent me the wrong battery, after advertising that it had a capacity of 6.0Ah, and then labeling the battery with a 6.0Ah label??? Or maybe they can't count? Or maybe they just wanted to sell the lowest cost battery that they could buy, that could increase their potential profits, with little apparent regards of their posted specifications, product quality, with obvious questions regarding safety. It seems that they must know that most people do not have the special equipment required to test these batteries properly so maybe they thought that they could take advantage of the unknowing consumers? You decide. After testing this battery, and learning how bad that it really was, I first moved it outside and a safe distance away from the house, and then I contacted Amazon for a refund. It looks obvious to me after testing this battery pack that the seller either doesn't know what they are selling, what quality control is, or they just don't care about their customers, but in any case, I do not need this poor quality battery pack near the house. Please consider doing the same if you purchased any of these battery packs.

Haven't had it long enough to rate it for longevity
There were a couple of not-great reviews I read, but still ordered it. To my (pleasant) surprise, It ripped a 4ft dead redbud tree trunk "out of the box" in a Ryobi 18" chain saw before it died. Recharged, and went on to cut down and buck up a 16" dia 25ft tall dead/standing maple. Only reason I switched out to my gas saw, was to give it some use. The battery still had 2 bars of charge. Have completely run it down/recharged it about 5 times since, and still running strong. Can't say for sure it's 6AH, but it lasts as long as my Ryobi 5AH battery. For half the price of the Ryobi battery, I'll probably be ordering another (can't have too many!).

Update… Dead after 2 months….
***6/10/23 ***Update:Just failed, after 4th time using. Worked okay this morning until it didn’t. Charge light on charger was not blinking. Checked voltage on battery and read only 30 volts. Tells me a cell failed. Just spend the money on OEM.*************************Battery works and charges with Ryobi charger, however I do not think it lasts as long in run time, nor does it provide strong initial start up power. For example, I need to gradually press the throttle control to build up to the power needed on both my weed eater and blower. With that being said, it does run my equipment and is a third of the price compared to the manufacturers.

Quality equal to manufacture brand
Battery lasts as long as original brand.Battery feels just as sturdy and hefty as the original brand.Battery life is not noticeably different from name brand battery.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!! I’m on my 3rd one and they have all done the same thing.
The media could not be loaded. I bought my first one in need of a ryobi back up so I have 2 batteries for all of my equipment, mower, edger, weed eater, blower, etc. it says it’s plug and play, so it comes out of the box with a small charge…maybe 2/4 lights so 50% charge give or take, so I plug it in and it charges fine right out of the box! 1st one I got I swapped batteries when it was time, worked fine and then I always allow them to cool before plugging them in (so I’m positive it’s not that) and the battery went into defective mode, I thought ehh maybe it’s a defect so I had them swap it with a new one…this time it came with about the same charge so I tried something different and just using it as it came, for a few minutes and then letting it cool and plug in. Same exact problem, would not charge after it came out of the box…and yes i did hook it up to the charger before I used it just to make sureIt charged and it worked fine right out of theBox. So now I’m on my 3rd one, thinking maybe I’mJust unlucky, got this one in the mail, plugged it in and it charged up perfect out of the box, used it and mowed my front and almost all of my backyard…went and set it down inside toCool off while I put the ryobi one in and finished up the yard. This was easily 2 hours of work so the battery is plenty cool as it sat inside in the a/c for2 hours before plugging it in. And as you can see in the video it will not charge now that I’ve used it 1 time! This is absolutely crazy. Now I’ve got to mail this one back in and get a refund! I’ve spent more time dropping off returns than I have getting to use the product!! Save yourself the time and just buy the ryobi brand
