Q: is there anyway to mount this camera so that someone can not just unscrew it an walk away with it?

Unfortunately not - althoughI would suggest that the camera is mounted 9 or 10ft high to put it out of reach and also give a better panoramic view.

Q: Is the camera easy to screw off the mount? Ours will be ~12 feet up and don't want to be 'screwing' around on a ladder too long.

Yes, it's easy to screw off the mount. One of our cameras is above the garage, at least 8 feet up.

Q: Can you mount an Arlo upside down? I want to use these mounts to place the cameras under eaves of my house which would make them upside down...

Yes you can! Go into settings/my devices and invert image! Although I chose to buy a better mount! VMA1100 available on Amazon for $25.00! You can put 2 cameras on these mounts and much better quality!

Q: How wide is the base of this adjustable mount?

I'm not sure of measurements... But the base width is smaller than the top of a can of soda. I have 2 of these, both mounted in trees. I used screws a tiny bit longer just for that extra bite. They're very sturdy!
