Q: Will the inserts raise my leg and hold it in a straight position? My leg has to be straight - no bend in the knee.

It comes with two relatively flat inserts. I believe it will depending on how you put your leg in. With my ankle I could sit back, or slide forward to dangle my foot. It was much better than trying to get the right pillows and balance.

Q: Will the Standard size work for someone 6’5”?

I'm 6'8" and I know your pain. Our life well...sucks...when it comes to things like this to put it bluntly. I've looked at a lot and this one is 20 in across just on the top knee to foot part...where most of them are 25 to 29 inches across for the *entire* device. I just had some major foot surgery and this is the one I'm going to try to try to successfully properly elevate my 50 inch (!).legs

Q: Would the short size work for somebody that is 5'11"?

I ordered the standard because, at 5’10”, I have really long legs. I wish I had gotten the short one. It is really comfortable but falls off the end of the recliner foot rest. I didn’t return it because I needed it right away and couldn’t afford to wait for it to be exchanged.
