Great Product - Shame About the (International) Packaging......
The product is fine (although I would have preferred non-glow plastic as this can be pain to see the areas which need sanding / filling). However, just a note about the international shipping (shipped to UK) - the shipping cost is very attractive but the item turns up in a plasticated jiffy bag which means the box is not always pristine (mine was slightly crushed - 2nd one in this condition). This is fine if you intend to make the item but not so great if you are a collector. seems a toss-up between good price and overall item condition.....?

Ye vast mateies this be pirate booty!
Kit is molded in glow in the dark plastic, if you want to build it like that , no paint is required, however if you want it to look like the box art there's going to be some paint involved. Easy kit build, and detailing was fun . These kits are remakes of remakes of the original priates of the Caribbean kits which are collectors items now and are very expressive. Round 2 models makes these now and are every bit like the originals only better plastics and better decals .

Easy to build
This is a very good starter model for older children. Loads of fun working on it with my son.

Raise the flag of piracy, sing a song of victory!
Like the other skeleton pirate kits in Lindberg's Jolly Roger line, the Freebooter was first released back in the 70's by MPC as 'Hoist High the Jolly Roger' in its Pirates of the Caribbean series. This one is a bit different though, as it depicts a fully fleshed out pirate with the option of either a skull or human head. Press a button on his back, and he swings his sword down to ward off any who'd want to steal his treasure chest. The kit is nicely detailed in terms of the figure and base, which also includes a spilled bag of coins, dagger and rum flask. Decals are included for the flag, chest and pirate hat. A replica pirate coin and medallion are included. Unlike the original, it's molded in glow in the dark plastic, allowing one to make a ghostly pirate, or paint should one wish. This is probably the easiest of the series to build as it's not as delicate in terms of parts, and the arm mechanism is pretty simple, though may require a bit of adult help for young modelers. All said and done, a fine kit, and glad to see it again.
