Surveying Practice Exams and Solutions for California Civil PE License

The problems and solutions are excellent. This is a must add to your study material. The problems given in these practice exams were essential in me passing the exam from he first take. The computer based part is the closest you get to the feel of the actual exam. I would say 40% of the problems in this book were similar to ones in the actual exam. Your mileage will vary.Don't buy this thinking it is the only reference you need. I used two more sample exam books, two general survey books, and three exam specific books. When you solve a problem you need to consider different formats or variables.

I used these practice exams along with Mansour's "Surveying for California Civil PE License" and I passed on the first try. I felt very well prepared for the exam and these are the only materials I used.

I have mixed feelings about this product. Its very difficult to find study materials for the surveying portion of the civil PE exam and I saw this one highly recommended on a number of sites so I chose to purchase it. The content of the book was helpful, there were two practice exams and a large amount of useful reference material such as formulas and definitions of terms. My biggest complaint is the quality of the book. After only a couple days of studying the pages began to fall out of the binding. More frustrating, however, was the quality of the images inside. All the diagrams within the book were very, very low resolution, to the point where the numbers and letters within them were almost illegible. I expected better from a $70 book. Overall I think this book is very overpriced for something so poorly designed, but if you're looking for additional study tools for the surveying exam this is one of the better sources in terms of content.

Well written. Easy to understand. Great sample problems.

Much improved from the previous books and information that I had.

This was all I used for the CA Civil Surveying exam. I do not have a civil nor surveying background. This book covers the test plan and is well organized, and the sample problems have a good mix of really easy and more difficult questions that match type of questions you see on the actual 55-question CBT. Highly recommended, if you don't have time or money to take a formal review course.
