Jorid Linvik's Big Book of Christmas Knits: Over 70 Scandinavian Holiday Patterns

This book is filled to the brim with lovely designs that are both artistic and homey, modern and traditional at the same time. Dolls, stockings, striking hats, a gorgeous child's sweater and matching hat, mini stocking ornaments with the recipient's initial(s), little ornamental bags with space for tiny daily advent gifts, inventive holiday tableware holders, bullfinch socks... so much variety. This book has items you can finish quickly and others that would take a longer time commitment. I will enjoy knitting new family holiday traditions and heirlooms for years to come!

Sort of a bummer that the advent ornaments are gift bags however there are some really fun miniature mitten and sock ornament patterns in this collection. You can find all of this on Ravelry but I thought it would be fun to have a book to enjoy for the holidays, it makes the whole process and experience of Christmas knitting come to life in these enjoyable pages. Huge thank you to the team of people behind this effort.

I purchased for small gift ideas

This book has really clear instructions for making stockings, miniature stockings for decorations and gift bags (24 designs on these alone!) US terminology but easily translates. Has blank charts for you to design your own for each pattern in this book. Beautiful photography and a very well made and constructed book. Highly recommend to intermediate knitters, I think I might of struggled with this book when I was a beginner and just learning however, it is still manageable and easy enough if you're confident with your own ability and patience.

Stunning knitting book! I am working on the gingerbread pot holder. Made the mini stocking decoration. Love this book! Very festive with beautiful items to knit and lots of variations and ideas! Glad I bought it, the front page doesn't do it justice.
