Not only are these beautiful wood and beautifully made, but the thickness and angle are perfect for any pot or pan. I love these! Yes, I abuse them and put them in the dishwasher bottom utensil rack. Then I air dry them completely and rub them well with olive oil and they come right back beautifully. I have one or multiples of everything they make. Love these.

I worked with these for a year before i wrote this review. I am used to french beechwood spatulas which i have used every day for the last 40 years, and i love.These olive wood spatulas look spectacular, but that is not a high concern for me. They are lovely and stiff, the beechwood has a little "give" in them which i am used to, so a couple of days of adjustment was needed for certain cooking styles. But now i would not go back.They cook great, they clean up great, and stay in top shape. The leading edge has not worm or frayed even after a year of daily heavy usage (i am heavy on these, not at all delicate - that is what the tongs or silicon tools are for)I oil them once a month or so and clean them soon after cooking.Great product, highly recommended

This is high quality and great value for the price! I definitely shopped around so I was so pleased to see the quality far exceeded my expectations. Adds the perfect accent for my bathroom. I’m using it to dispense my bath products.

In my master bathroom, I have a large glass apothocary jar filled with bath salts. I’m going for a “spa look” and wanted a lovely scoop to place inside the jar. This scoop was the perfect size (not too small to get ‘lost’ in the jar) and the deep rich color made it a true stand out piece against my pink bath salts. It was pricey, in my opinion, for something so small, but I took the plunge because I wanted a specific look. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a beautiful display piece, since I bought it more for appearance than functionality.

I am stuck on wooden tools for cooking -- especially in nonstick pans. I like the flat sides on this "spoon" for safely scraping the bottom and sides of the pan. Stronger than plastic and lighter than metal. Berard makes excellent quality olive wood tools. I own several. Some have been used more than three years. No chips or cracks. I don't put them in the dishwasher. I make curry quite often and they do NOT retain the smell. When I make something like oatmeal or fruit pie filling, any of the olive wood spoons will work even if previously used for stirring a pot of curry.

Personally, my preference for Kitchen Utensils is Olive Wood from Berard, and a few other hardwoods that are available from others. My Olive Wood Utensils get a great amount of use and they in-fact last for years. Treat them right and they will treat you right. I have a tendency to be rough on them, but periodic care by oiling with food grade mineral oil is a very good idea!

I needed a scoop for my brown sugar and this one is the right size and fits right in my air tight container. It gets much use as I bake quite a bit and use brown sugar often. Works well and washes fine. I do not put it in the dishwasher, but wash and dry it right away and wait a bit to put it back in the container, so it is well dried out.
