GREAT pan! Some helpful tips....
I decided to post a thorough review of this item because it really is a great pan, but for someone who doesn’t bake much (me), some pointers would have been welcomed. I searched all the reviews looking for suggestions like baking time, how much batter, etc, and there were few clear cut responses. I hope my review can help a few other people who may have similar questions. To start, id like to say it’s a great silicone mold. Perfect size to serve a small group. I purchased this for my son’s Spider-Man themed party and copied the idea for the cake from others I found in search.1). Do I need to spray the pan? Absolutely. I don’t know what kinda of results you would get if you didn’t, but save yourself the headache and use a baking spray to coat the inside. Cake comes out easily that way, just go slow.Note: Use a metal baking sheet underneath the silicone to help stabilize it and make it easy to put in and take out of the oven.2). How much cake mix should I use? That might largely depend on the number you have. I only used the 5 and imagine a 2 or 3 would be about the same. The mold comes with recipes for cake batter but I bought the boxed stuff. I used 1 box of mix and baked according to the recommendations on the box. I went by the directions for a “nonstick pan” which is a slightly lower temp (I think it was 325 instead of 350). In hindsight, in the future I would use 1 1/4 or 1 1/3 boxes of mix and here’s why..... Cakes do not bake perfectly flat on top. What I ended up with was a cake that was higher in the middle (above the mold) and lower on the ends (Below the mold). This was actually a pretty easy fix. After the cake cooled in the pan, I took my longest, sharpest knife and ran it across the top of the mold, careful not to cut the mold. I was left with a perfectly flat top, but the ends still were not as high, hence why I would use just a little more batter next time. The cake cut very easily with a good knife. Not too big of a deal because you flip the cake anyways. I used extra icing to fill in the gaps at the bottom. (A tip for flipping- put the cake base or pan right on top of the cake while still in the mold, hold tightly together and flip).2). How many will it serve? That largely depends on the portions you cut but the #5 easily gave 10 good slices. Some people make a layer cake out of these so if you need to serve more people you could go that route and cut skinnier slices).3). How the heck do you get edging icing inside the tiny crevices???? I had to be creative here and leaving the inside without a border was not an option in my eyes. So I got out a small sheet of wax paper and made lines of edging to match the areas I couldn’t reach with my piping bag. I put the sheet with the edges in the freezer for about 10 minutes and when I took them out I cut sections to size and used a needle-shaped baking tool to spear the pieces and carefully place them inside the crevices.I hope those tips are helpful to someone else. I had a heck of a time getting ONE cake base for this size. The 12” would have been too small and every store was out of the 14”. Maybe a bakery would just give you one if you asked but I ended up putting my cake directly on a carrier and served it that way (bought it at Michaels).

Super cute
Make sure you spray it and let it cool so it comes out more easily. Very cute. Used 2x, worked well.

Good ones are great quality
When I first bought these (I purchased the whole set 0-8) I got a couple numbers (3 total if I remember correctly) that were bad. They were very thick on one side and paper thin on the other, Which made them very flimsy. I contacted the seller to let them know and I just felt like they weren't being very helpful, and their answer made me feel as if they weren't believing me. Basically said they had been selling for years and never had that problem before. They wanted pictures but Amazon wasn't allowing me to attach it directly to the messages I was sending directly via Amazon. So I emailed them directly from my email and they kept saying they hadn't received anything despite me sending them over and over again. When I finally asked for a number/email of someone that could help they stated they were trying to do just that but I truly felt they weren't. They finally said they had received the email with pics included and were very sorry about it. At the end they said they would ship replacements out and would personally check them to make sure they were good. I did receive the replacements very fast and were all great. They later emailed me to thank me for bringing this up as he checked his stock and found others with the same problem. I just wish they hadn't given me such a hard time with it :/. I really love these molds and the quality of the good ones are great! I would recommend these, I would just keep an eye out and contact them if I get a bad one as they are useless.I included a picture of the good ones (left) vs the bad ones (right). Good ones are great quality. Totally worth buying!

Perfect for number cakes
Cakes bake well and are easy to remove. So much easier thank baking a sheet cake and then cutting out thr shape. Due to the pans being made of flexible silicone I'd recommend using a cookie sheet to help with transferring to and from oven.

Great pan!
This cake pan mold was great! I typically have issues with the cakes not cooking level and having to cut off quite a bit on top but with these molds they cooked pretty level! I did use about one and a half cake mixes and baked it at 325 degrees and that worked well.

I will definitely buy more!
UPDATED!This mold was fantastic! I used a box cake and baked following the instructions of a 9" pan on the box. One box filled the pan just enough and it turned out perfectly! I sprayed the inside with cooking spray and put it on a cookie sheet to bake (to stabilize it coming in and out of the oven). I allowed it to cool for a little bit and then popped it right out onto a cooling rack to finish cooling. It came out of the pan with no problems. The pan was a little smaller than I was expecting, so I baked two cakes and stacked them. It served 13 people with decent slices and still had a few leftovers. I will definitely buy more for other birthdays! For anyone that wants to use the recipes that comes with the pan, be aware that the temperature is in Celsius.UPDATE: I've now bought a #3 for my son's birthday and it worked out great! I plan to buy a #1 for a friend's party as well.

Definitely worth buying
Made a perfect cake. Lightly greased the inside and the cake came out effortlessly. Didn't use the recipe it came with went for 300g Caster Sugar, 300g butter, 300g self raising flour, 5 eggs, vanilla essences and 85g plain flour - perfect quantities for this size mould. Really pleased.

Such a great mould but we made a rookie mistake…..
Such a great number mould!!This was a last minute purchase as we wanted to make a number two but not actually carve out and make the number ourselves.Tips -Get the mould out of the packaging and make sure it’s had time to sit and reshape if it’s got squashed in transit.Wash firstWe used a 16inch square cake board ( see picks ) as we did a digger theme and needed extra space. We used some butter/stork and wiped it over the inside so it would help with removal! It worked and literally just popped out.Fill mould up to 3/4 fullCooking takes approx 45mins for a Victoria sponge recipeYou will have to remember to flip the cake ( num 2 ) before decorating, we made a rookie mistake as you can see from our picks! It was 11pm and we just didn’t think. Anyway it was easy to turn over and looked fab!!I was very surprised how rigid the sides are!Very easy to clean , just soaked while I was cleaning up and done!Hope this helped!

Great product, incorrect recipe supplied
I love these mould, make sure you put the mould on a flat tray as it helps when removing it from the oven. I usually use my own recipe. I thought I would try the one on the pack.....whatever you do avoid this recipe at all costs!!!

Decent number cake tin
Perfect for baking a cake for my Mum's birthday. I used a 5 egg cake recipe as suggested in another review (having searched online and found a 70 cake recipe using the same proportions on 'She Who Bakes'). It worked perfectly. I buttered and floured the cake tins before baking, placing the tin on a baking tray, so the cake lifted out perfectly after being left to cool almost completely. I did find the cake somewhat fragile as suggested in the website recipe - but despite splits, I managed to ice and decorate, so you can't tell. Definitely recommend these tins.
