2 Inch Vinyl Tape for Tarpaulins, Covers, Awnings, Tents, Hay Covers, Agriculture, Construction, Boating, and Recreational

Maybe this stuff works on vinyl....but I tried sun, hair dryer, and heat gun to get this stuff to join two Costco 12x15 poly tarps.... the tap came apart easily in the first mild storm. I do not think it is sticky at all as compared to duct tape .... but we all know that duct tape does not weather well and the sun will melt the adhesion of duct tape in many applications. If you Google this topic...you will find that folks are having a hell of a hard time finding an adhesive that will REALLY bond poly tarps. I also tried a hot glue gun and Gorilla glue ... no good. This poly stuff is just so slick the glues will just not adhere. My next experiment on joining two poly tarps will be with an inexpensive plastic rivet gun with some species of JB Welder rubber glue ... wonder if it will hold up to a few good Pacific Coast storms? This tape sure did not !!!

Seems to work in sheltered conditions, however prolonged sunlight exposure caused it to lift when left. The tarps were under stress from elastic bungee cords so they may have added to the lifting problem. I am trying an alternate method to reduce the stretch from the elastic cords. Otherwise product seemed to hold up very well except where prolonged sunlight hit it.

used this to repair a convertible top on my wife's miata. We have tried a coupe of solutions which were all very temporary. This fix has been in place for several months now and appears to be a long term correction that shoudl last until we decide to actually repair the top. I did use a heat gun during application.

Don't waste your time and money. Didn't last long at all. Everywhere I used it failed to hold. Redid with Gorilla Tape and its good to go.

Worked well. We had lots of rain. Used on my electric awning.

I bought this tape and also clear Gorilla tape, the Gorilla tape made a much better bond. This tarp tape does not have a good adhesive, it comes off. Don't bother.
