So far, so good
** Updated Dec 9, 2019 - Great mouth guard - lasted almost 3 years of nightly useJust an update that I finally "retired" this guard after almost three years of use. I first started using February, 2017 and only now just started coming apart. It had gotten kind of yellowed in recent months although I soak it in denture cleaner each night, so it has always been clean. $16 for about 34 months seems good deal to me.I've just switched to the backup one I had ordered earlier and will order a few more now to keep in storage in case they discontinue this or something in the future.FYI, in the past on the few occasions I have slept in the same room with someone, I have been told I woke them with my snoring. But this past Summer I spent about two weeks with a roommate who said they never heard me snore at night, So it might be that this thing has gotten my snoring under control also.** Updated Jan 4, 2019 - Still Going StrongWell, this turned out to be a great purchase. I'm still using this same guard after nearly two years (soak it in denture cleaner each morning). Even though it is a much softer rubber than the hard dentist ones, and I think I really bite into it some nights, it has not broken or worn out. About a year ago I brought it to my dentist to get their opinion, wondering if they might say I should switch back to the kind they provide, but they said many patients also use this kind. When I realized it was working out, I bought a second one as a backup, but still haven't needed to switch to it.-----------------------------------I had been using one of the expensive ones from the dentist for a few years, then lost it on vacation - yeah, that was a bad day. Anyway, decided I needed to give this a try given the price. I had previously used a top guard so it took me a few nights to get used to this, maybe a week. Now it is fine. It has been about a month I guess and it hasn't fallen apart or anything, even though it is a lot softer than the dentist one. But I figure even if I have to replace it after a few months, it will still be a bargain compared to the "real"; ones. Also, even after wearing the regular one for a few years (which was made out of a much harder material), my hygienist said she could still see signs of new wear on my teeth and so I'm wondering if this softer one might actually be better over the long run - we'll see. So, I might buy a couple more now to have "in stock"; -- especially if I'm going to keep losing stuff.

If you don’t like it, you’re SOL
Just know that if you find it uncomfortable, the company BioGrind claims you can return it for a full refund but there is absolutely zero contact info for them. Not on the box, the manual, or anywhere on the Internet. Total scam.

This mouth guard has been great. I had a lot of headaches
This mouth guard has been great. I had a lot of headaches, neck pain and tension from always grinding my teeth and having my jaw out of line. My jaw used to crack and crack when I was eating. After wearing this night guard for a few weeks, it has all gone away. The first week is rough. my jaw was so sore. It was difficult to eat. My gums felt weird and were chewed up from the breathing hole in the front. If you can make it through the first week then things will be fine from then on. At least that is how it was for me. Now my jaw is in alignment. no more cracking. I grind my teeth all night but do not wake up with a headache or tension. The guard has so many indentations from the grinding that I will probably buy a new one soon. Very helpful item.

No more grinding for me!
I have purchased so many mouth guards over the years costing more than this one, this has to be my most favorite. I am a serious grinder..I have cracked two teeth, when I have gone periods without a mouth guard. This guard is for the bottom and top rows of teeth and not just the bottom like most guards. It took a little getting used to, but I do not wake up with the headaches or pain in my rear teeth that I have always still somehow have been able to grind with the other mouthpieces. Your mouth is a little "juicy" when you first use this, but once you get used to it that is no longer a problem..I think it has to do with fitting and the fact that it keeps the top and bottom teeth apart. Overall I am so happy with this guard..it's awesome!

Pretty Good for Being a Mouth Guard
As I imagine many of you reading this are, I am a night time teeth grinder. Have been for years. And the effect on my teeth has been devastating: My teeth are now mostly made of that cavity-filling epoxy dentists use--and which always seems to break loose every couple of years, requiring more time in their chair to fix.Over this time, I've used a variety of mouth guards; some great, some not-so-great. The BioGrind falls into the "great" category... but is still a mouth guard. I've rated this product three stars not because it's mediocre (it's actually pretty well-designed as far as crescent-shaped pieces of soft plastic go), but because it carries with it the usual headaches of mouth guards. None of these are the fault of this product itself, but I still have to dock it down for them. To explain:If this is your first time using any sort of mouth guard, be prepared for a few sleepless nights while trying to get used to it. You're going to find yourself playing with it and thinking about how it feels against your teeth instead of getting your rest. No, you will. Trust me. My suggestion is to make your first night of use on the last night you work, and continue using it through your weekend. It won't take you long to get used to it--which is surprising given how foreign it feels the first few nights--so commit to sticking it out at least a week before giving up on it. You're going to deal with this no matter what mouth guard you choose, so don't let this be a deal-killer for this particular model.Fitting the appliance to your particular mouth will be awkward. It involves boiling water, and submerging the device for an exact length of time (read your directions which will come with the device) to soften the material enough so that your teeth can sink into it. The BioGrind is well ahead of its competitors in this department: Most other guards use a hard plastic plate that you set the softened material into and this plate NEVER fits your mouth. The BioGrind, instead, comes with a Popsicle stick which serves both as a handle, as well as a method of keeping the middle air passageway open during fitting. It's almost genius in its simplicity. Still, this stage is awkward enough that you'll be glad you only do it once.Brush your teeth before fitting. Unless tasting the rot of embedded food night after night is something you strive for, you'll want the impression of your teeth to be as clean as possible. When fitting, use a normal bite. This thing is going to hold your jaw in this position all night long, and you'll reduce the chance of having sore jaws in the morning by making sure to keep your teeth in as natural a position as possible. While most appliances only cover the top teeth, the BioGrind's the full meal deal.Be prepared to find the device on your pillow for a few nights. Until you train yourself to sleep with the feel of this thing in your mouth, you're likely going to rebel against it during the night and spit it out. Just like the initial discomfort of getting used to it, this too shall pass.It will also need cleaned every morning after you take it out of your mouth. I've found using hydrogen peroxide or toothpaste works pretty well. For a bonus, you can rinse it with mouthwash just before inserting it for the night. Using a dirty appliance will likely speed the rate of tooth decay, not to mention taste terribly. If you travel or camp a lot, keep this in mind when bringing the appliance with you.So all in all, it's a good product. Probably the best of its class. And since it holds your lower jaw into place, might cure you of snoring if you're so inclined to do that. The open airway between your upper and lower front teeth means that you can still wear this if you're congested. And once it's in, there's no conceivable way you'll still be grinding your teeth as you sleep. In these areas, it's a five-star product. For being a mouth guard and carrying the usual baggage OF mouth guards, I really don't see how I can review any of these products higher than I've rated this one.
