Greatest Stuff Ever! Not Just A Side Dish!
Don't think of this as only a side dish...soak in water or milk overnight and add to stew, soup or cornbread. When adding to cornbread I cook it first. If you like adventure don't follow the package recipe all the time. Cook it on the stovetop and add real butter, sugar, brown sugar, ground cloves. cinnamon, oregano, basil, pre-cooked onions or peppers or garlic or all, and different flavored peppers. In other words dried corn is a great food base for creating other incredible side dish foods. Once the incredients are cooked fairly well, add more butter, stir and simmer all day. I much prefer stove top cooking rather than baking because the deep rich nut-like flavors are much more intense. Always have dried corn on the holidays and don't hesitate to add it to stuffing for the bird.

A terrific and easy dish
After discovering this recipe for creamed corn a couple of years ago, it now is a staple for all holiday dinners. I’m not even a creamed corn fan, but this is a whole ‘nother deal.

Amish Dried sweet corn-a PA/Dutch taste of our Mom's/Grandma's House
Copes Dried Sweet Corn is a traditional taste of Amish/Dutch Pennsylvania foods. Can be Stewed, Creamed and made into a Souffle using recipes provided on the side of the packaging or checking the internet. A savory nutty, sweet taste with a deep toasted corn taste. Must be re-hydrated with soaking/stewing to become soft enough to be eaten. Traditional Amish food that goes well with poultry, pork and beef any time of the year!

Just as i remembered
As a kid my grandmother always had Copes dried corn at the holidays, great memories. By luck I saw it on Amazon. I thought the price was high but did not know what it should cost. Ordered a couple bags and I am glad I did. The unique nutty-corn taste is like nothing else.

Don’t follow the box recipe, sorry Copes my opinion!
I have been eating Copes corn all my life. My mother made it. We don’t use the recipe on the box ( sorry Copes ) . Put corn, brown sugar (I use dark) , butter and milk (I use whole milk) and simmer till done.

Cope's Dried Corn is an excellent product.
This product is Cope's Dried Corn. This is a product that I grew up with and something my family and other people from my area always had especially for holiday meals. This is one of the few places that I can now find this product and the younger generations now look forward to having it for their holiday meals.

So Disappointed
This corn has been a much anticipated treat on the table of four generations in our family. Since I moved to Vermont, I have had to order it on line. I ordered nine individual bags to assure an adequate supply for our family and to send to fellow friends who grew up in Reading, Penna. and fondly remember this tasty treat. Sadly, the corn product has changes drastically! What was once gently roasted, nutty, chewy and sweet is now nothing but an overly roasted and mealy porridge. Thankfully, I could return my unused packages to Amazon and will receive a refund. How sad it is to no longer enjoy John Copes Dried Corn. Perhaps I will search for an old fashioned corn dryer and try to make my own.

Product is a trip back through time
I remember my grandmother in Penna. making Cope's Dried Corn inthe 1940's and 1950's. I was surprised that the product stillexists. I remember liking it as a child, but I have to say thatI would not buy the product again, as I did not really care toomuch for it when I made it recently. I will try the 2nd recipeon the package next time and perhaps that will be more like whatI remember my grandmother making. This is not a negative on theseller....the seller mailed me the product promptly and I woulddeal with this seller again on other items.
