Do not buy unless you like being exposed to the elements.
Bought this tent for a three day backpacking trip in Arkansas in November. My expectations were high from the other reviews but do not be fooled.Pros:-The tent was easy to set upCons:-Offered virtually no protection from light rain. Everything inside got wet overnight.-Horrible condensation issues. Everything that was not wet from the rain was wet from the condensation.I was hiking with three friends who bought $20 Magellan arrowhead tents from wal-mart that were the same weight and size. THESE TENTS DID NOT SHARE ANY OF THE SAME ISSUES. I recommend people buy those instead of risking waking up wet and shivering during the night because I will be doing the same.UPDATE:Customer service for this company is great. After my initial review they reached out and sent me a new tent to try. I will update my review again once I try the new tent.

First impression is very good. On second thought, I did some improving
I will be using this tent for several extended AT trips this year and will submit subsequent reviews about the real world experience at a later date. The product seems well made and matches the sellers description on all counts. It is very light weight and I was able to refold it and get it back to the received size with out too much trouble. The enclosed directions with photos is a nice touch, much better than the little stick guy you usually get from other vendors. I especially appreciate the extra room that they give you, an important factor if you've even spent a rainy day in a small tent. All in all it seems like a good product, time will tell and I'll be backAfter setting it up a few more times I realized I was not happy with the situation. I purchased a 16' shock cord pole and used it instead of my hiking poles. I inserted the pole ends into the ground and across the top of the long axis of the tent and tied all the eyelets to the pole. It gave me a very sturdy structure that maximized every available cubic inch in the interior, no saggy walls after pulling out and pegging down the side strings. I left it out overnight in very windy conditions and to my great delight it wasn't stuck up in a neighbors tree the next morning. I'm also fabricating a lightweight tarp with grommets to add the extra rain protection, basically making it a double wall tent when needed. As a bonus I can now use my hiking poles to hold up the Fly over the entrance for superior ventilation. The tent with stakes weighs 2lbs 4 oz, the shock cord pole is 11.7 ozs, so we still come in slightly under 3 lbs for what I would now consider a great backpacking tent for the price. At Harbor Freight a 9x12 drop cloth is $1.49 and weights about 4 ozs, after some trimming to about 9x8 and grommet attachment we''ll have a rain tarp still weighing about 4 ozs.

Very lightweight
Extremely portable and lightweight. Went up quickly and had a decent amount of room on the interior. Wish I had purchased the two person version as it is only slightly heavier and has much more room for keeping gear on the inside.

Awesome find!
Was looking for a compact lightweight solo tent that wouldn't "break the bank". Never expected to find one this inexpensive that wasn't "junk". Material seems pretty light weight (Which is good for keeping the overall weight down.) but the workmanship and construction are excellent. No exposed hem seams. Floor seams are taped. Good reinforced guy line attachments. High viz orange guy lines. Good quality aluminum stakes. Heavy duty stake and trekking pole straps. The only criticism I have is inside headroom is limited so don't expect to sit up get dressed and I would prefer the gear pocket on the door end. Overall this is a well designed, well constructed tent and it is apparent that these folks have done their homework. If the material stands up this will truly prove to be an awesome find.

Very impressive for the price.
I like the design of this tent and expect to get a lot of use out of it. Extremely lightweight with no indication of dysfunctionally cheap materials or craftsmanship. Sticks work great as a replacement for trekking poles. Setup tips provided with the tent were also very helpful. Only trouble is condensation; need to keep it well ventilated which can be challenging in cooler weather. I'm going to keep an eye out for other camping items by river country products

Great Light Weight Backpacking Tent
I use this as a backpacking tent that packs up small and lightweight. For the price, this item is impossible to beat, I am 6'5" tall and weigh 225 and can sleep in this (its tight, but I fit). The guy system is good and has been used in winds upto 25 mph without fail. Would highly recommend for a great value buy as a backup tent or backpack lightweight day pack option.

Very good tent for the money
Out standing for the price I expected alot worse quality even with adding a tarp still lighter then tents twice the price. If your over 6 foot I would go a different route.

Excellent for the price!
Obviously, this isn't the fanciest or most advanced tent on the market. However, it sets up easy, is compact, and lightweight. I haven't used it in the rain, but I did spray it with a hose when I first set it up and the inside stayed completely dry. I would definitely recommend this tent to someone who is trying to get into backpacking on a budget!
