'Gin Fling' is My NEW favorite book in the Bootleg series- GAH, as much as I need answers, I don't know If I am ready for the last book now that we're so close to the end!If you have not acquainted yourself with this fantabulous series..... WHY NOT?Lucy Score and Claire Kingsley's masterminds have been working overtime creating this hilarious, sexy, mysterious, action-packed town- Jump on the train to Bootleg Springs- it's worth it!!

Shelby, picky (junk food) eater extraordinaire, is working on her thesis in Bootleg Springs. Jonah Bodine, fitness buff and all around good guy, is the half brother of the Bodines and unsure of whether he belongs or not. Shelby harbors a small crush on Jonah, but he thinks she is an evil reporter set on exposing his family. Enemies to lovers (can you really call them enemies if only one person is doing the disliking) is one of my favorite tropes, and Lucy brought her A-game with this one. The romance aspect alone is enough to make this an exceptional read.The Callie Kendall mystery has taken so many twists and turns and just when I think I have it figured out, Lucy (or Claire) throws me for a loop! So many revelations are made in this book, and trust me if you are following the series, YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS! There is suspense and danger and I was a mess trying to figure everything out or save fictional characters with my mind powers alone. *Warning* If you are a nervous nail biter, take the necessary precautions! My nails did not survive.Bootleg Springs is one of the best little quirky towns ever. Shelby has asked the townspeople to fill out a survey to help with her thesis and their answers are wonderfully charming, witty, and true to what you would expect from Bootleg Springs. The group text messages between the Bodines were also the best. I love this family, town, and how they step up for one another. I am so excited for Claire's installment (#6 Highball Rush) but have thoroughly loved each and every book. This series is a MUST.

Wowww.. this was my favorite in the series so far. I always liked Jonah’s mysterious but kind personality. I knew his book will be great, but even with that said, this book exceed my high expectations. I love that Jonah was shown to have vulnerabilities and not describe as perfect male. I love the confidence Shelby has. She knew what she wanted and went for it, true feminist💕 Their love story was developed beautifully. It was a well paced story. Jonah’s mom deserves what she’s getting. I really hope she is safe with all the information she knows and shared. She deserves a happily ever after.Lastly, I’m on edge for the last book. Here is my crazy prediction for that book, I think it’s about Callie and Gibson. Key word, crazy lol. It’s my crazy thought on the series so don’t judge lol. Here’s why I think Callie will return and will be Gibson’s long lost love. First, throughout the series we know Gibson was the least forgiving on the father and most affected by this case. The others of course were affected and held some grudge but not as much as Gibson. He was always described as a devastated isolated man that’s really going through a lot of emotional pain or battle. This book (book 5 about Jonah) really shed light on why he was so devastated. He was the only one that had some sort of relationship with Callie. The pic of them together making faces showed they were more than friends. This is why he was so hurt to think his father would sleep and kill the woman he loved. There’s too much messy ness in that situation. He has to not only grieve the death of his first love, but also witness betrayal from his father and worst of all the possibility that his father was so cruel to kill her. That is a lot to handle. That can break any human and Gibson in these story was described as a broken man. Now it’s all making sense why he was the most broken of all his siblings. I look forward to approve or disapprove this crazy theory I have🤣 either way I’m excited for this book, I know it will be a great read.

Wow, what a rollercoaster of a storyline this book turned out to be.Jonah Bodine, surprise half brother to the rest of the Bootleg Springs clan finds himself at a crossroads between whether to stay in Bootleg or keep searching for where he belongs. Is he really a Bodine or are the siblings just tolerating his presence? Can he really be embraced by a town that knows his complex family history? Does anyone need him to stay? Is his attraction to his accidental roommate Shelby Thompson the real deal?As for Shelby, her future is just as confusing. She has a doctorate to complete. A newly diagnosed illness to navigate and a serious attraction to Jonah Bodine to reconcile. She may only be in Bootleg Springs temporarily but her feelings are becoming permanent.Obviously, I adored the push and pull of Jonah and Shelby together, thinking this was just a fling but falling in love despite their best efforts to hold back. This gradual falling in love was superbly done by Lucy, I believed every moment of them together.Then bam!! We find out huge things about the Callie disappearance that frankly rocked my socks off. I was gripped as the story went from meandering to full throttle amazing in the space of just a few pages.An amazing, thrilling story from start to finish.

The latest in the Bootleg Springs series deals with Jonah, still relatively new to the town and his newfound family, and Shelby, writing up her doctoral dissertation while battling a few hidden issues of her own. Thanks to a little bit of meddling, they end up as roommates for the summer. Simple, right?Well, this is Bootleg... and this book is just as much a love letter to the town as it is Jonah and Shelby’s story. It showcases the inhabitants’ beautifully defiant uniqueness (as shown in the responses to Shelby’s survey) and how they accept outsiders for what they are. Plus there is a seamless blend of romance, hilarity, emotional “I’m not crying, you’re crying” moments and “ohmyGOSH!” high drama that make this a compelling, “just one more chapter” read. The ongoing mystery of Callie Kendall gets a few major twists and sets up the last book of the series perfectly - I for one can’t wait.

What can I say? Jonah and Shelby. Funny. Sweet. Loving. An awesome story that will have you laughing out loud but will also keep you on the edge of your seat. Thrills, spills and the continuing mystery of Callie Kendall.Also, I want to move to Bootleg Springs. Amazing people in an awesome town, where you can laugh, love and live happily ever after.Absolutely, definitely, a recommended read.

Love love love this book! The long awaited Gibson Book does not disappoint. Loved the wholes series and the awesomeness of Bootleg Springs. Highly recommend this book and the entire series! You’ll laugh out loud and fall for all the crazy characters! I want to live there!

I absolutely love this series, and Jonah and Shelby's story is a fantastic addition. I love everything Bootleg, and cannot recommend this book this book highly enough. Not long to wait for Gibson's book.
