Nice replacement
I bought this to replace an "Obama" phone I had (exact make and model) which was damaged and would not be replaced. All I had to do, to continue to receive the service, was to transplant my SIM card from my old damaged phone to the new one and it worked. I've been saved. I gave the battery life 4 stars but I've only had it for a few weeks and only had to charge it up maybe 3 times and I did it while the charge was at 70%. Just to top it off. If your looking for more technical observations, sorry, I'm not that astute in those matters. All I can say it served my immediate needs and am more than pleased.

Works OK as a cheap wifi only android device
This review is strictly of the phone as a wifi only device, and not the simple mobile service (I haven't activated the phone on simple mobile's network). Also, I'm reviewing this phone for what it is, a cheap android phone. That is, my 4 stars is for serving its purpose as a *cheap* phone, but in general it is not a 4 star phone.Since I'm using this wifi only in my house, wifi quality is of course at least somewhat important to me. The wifi does the job.The manufacturer has several unnecessary apps preinstalled, including 3 games that include 2 different solitaire games, as well as facebook and some app called wish that appears to let you buy cheap junk direct from manufacturers in China (that certainly doesn't sound safe). Anyway, it is annoying that these are installed to begin with, however, it is easy enough to uninstall them to free up space for something else.As for storage, there appears to be around 7GB free and available for your use after uninstalling those few apps.I bought this phone specifically for my daughter's science fair project. She wants to use an android app that lets you use the light sensor to measure light to measure how much light passes through different beverages. She'll be sitting clear plastic cups of different liquids on top of the part of the screen with the ambient light sensor. I clearly didn't want her doing this with a good expensive phone. In any event, the ambient light sensor appears to work very well. The display isn't that good. So if you care about that then this phone is not for you. E.g. I wouldn't want to watch videos on this thing.Assuming my daughter's science project doesn't destroy it, I'll probably use this afterwards as a remote control for some home automation devices in my house like my thermostat, or possibly as a cheap mp3 player. It should work well enough for those purposes.

PERFECT!!!!!
I needed a GSM backup phone for my primary phone (just in case). I looked through HUNDREDS of phones. I did not want to spend $800 for a phone with lots of bells and whistles. I intended to use this cell phone for emergencies - hurricanes, my other older phone dies, driving long distances, etc. Eureka! I found this phone. PERFECT! The merchant shipped very quickly. In the blink of an eye, I swapped the mini-SIM card over. IT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED AND NEEDED. I am thrilled. Thank you for filling a niche in the market with this simple little wonderful cell phone.

Phone is garbage, even for $20
At $20 I expect a horrible, barely functional phone. I got a moto the other day and it worked totally fine after a half hour of finagling. This thing is the opposite: every single time you click anything on the screen it beeps. Who decided that was a good default setting? It took almost five minutes to find the damn setting to turn this off. I had to go through the same setup process three times for seemingly no reason. You cannot change the brightness during the entire setup process. It comes with several 500+mb apps preinstalled, and they replace the default camera, contacts, etc from Android with their own garbage, that cannot be uninstalled. I disabled, uninstalled, force stopped, cleared storage and cache of every single app on the system and it comes with less than half space AFTER that. If it were for all of the above only, this phone would get 3 stars, since after all, it's 20 bucks and still functions. The reason for a one star review is simple: Every two minutes of use I get a notification (that cannot be turned off, the app cannot be uninstalled or disabled) saying that wifi calling isn't working. This also isn't a normal notification. It stops everything I'm doing and pushes a message that I have to click "ok" in order to continue in whatever app I was using. The makers of this phone took stock Android and screwed it up to the point it doesn't even work. If you want to spend $20, get a moto. If you want an actual good phone, get a pixel. Now for your entertainment, here's the error for every time it's appeared in the past half hour:"Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect"Doesn't matter if the app is disabled. Doesn't matter if do not disturb is on. It will still give you the notification. It's unstoppable. Also, GPS doesn't work. Not that it's bad, it just doesn't even have GPS capabilityI feel sorry for the morons who buy this as an actual phone and attempt to make a phone call on it. This TCL thing is garbage.Update:"Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect""Wi-Fi Calling Error: Unable to connect"

Good starter phone
The phone moves slow. No finger print recognition. Just a basic, small smart phone.

Excellent phone, great value!
I've bought at least 7 or 8 of these phones. Not because there is anything wrong with the phone but because my absent-minded son keeps losing or dropping/cracking the phones. These are quality phones that are cheap enough to replace when necessary. I bought this as a spare, because my son is due to lose his phone any day. We used to pay a deductible and replace his expensive Samsung or Apple phone ... never again in this life. This phone is perfect for what every teenager/young adult uses it for ... texting, social media, photos and the occasional call. Great value, decent screen size, decent pics/video, decent audio.
