People of all ages love unsolved mysteries!
The Bermuda Triangle is a large triangular area in the Atlantic Ocean where there have been many mysterious disappearances. Boats and planes have suddenly dropped from the radar never to be found again. The person who dubbed or named this area the Bermuda Triangle was Vincent Gaddis. The author says that "This area lay between Bermuda, Miami, and Puerto Rico. Drawing a line between these three places makes a perfect triangle."Many planes have simply vanished. The most perplexing of course was Flight 19, a group of five Navy Bombers. A very large Navy ship called the USS Cyclops was lost in 1918, never to be heard from again. The disappearances that have fascinated generations are the Ghost Ships, "ships that have been found drifting in the Triangle with no crew on board." The author speculates or thinks about ways that these ships, planes and people could have disappeared logically. This book was based on a text by Brian Innes. I'm assuming he did have a heavy hand in this book as he and Walker have coauthored several books in the past. The illustrations, photographs and text are stimulating and awe inspiring. If you are between the ages of eight to eighty, you'll love this one. Of course there are exceptions to every rule and you could be younger or older . . . people of all ages seem to love unsolved mysteries! I know I do.
