Excellent Monitor ASUS VG248QG
Treated myself to this monitor during the recent limited time deal over the new year as it had £50 reduction to £128 and a generous Amazon gift card from a friend meant it only relieved me of £78.First, packaging, it comes in a very rigid box the screen is 1" thick and the box is 8.5" thick with high impact quality polystyrene formed protection, accidental knocks unlikely to cause any concern. Opening, straight away you can see a very well made piece of kit, assembly only takes a few minutes, the pillar slots onto the base plate firmly but remember there is a captive bolt under the base plate that needs to be hand tightened to make secure.A reviewer stated that the monitor only comes with a 2 pin round European power lead, this is incorrect, it comes with a UK 3 pin earthed lead AND a European 2 pin. I wonder maybe some people are buying items that are returns and refurbished for a saving and the UK lead is missing.Another stated it comes with an HDMI cable, again incorrect, the cable is a DVI., so you'll have to get an HDMI although most of us have them knocking around somewhere.It has inbuilt speakers but don't expect fireworks, "mediocre" is being generous, so get a stand alone pair.Everything else about the monitor is exceptional, Oh, the Amazon description stated it had a gloss finish screen, incorrect mine is a Matte finish.There's only 1 HDMI socket but you can get around that with a splitter.One personal little niggle, all the sockets are positioned vertically and a bit of a pain, why they don't position them horizontally is beyond me makes life so much easier, maybe a design issue?Look at the technical specifications, you get a lot for your money.

Nice smooth 144/165hz monitor, cant go wrong with it. It's versatile and also is good for a main/second/third monitor! Had no issues with it so far.

Outstanding for Xbox Series X 120Hz
Works right out of the box for Xbox Series X at 120Hz, I'd read reports that it doesn't, but confirmed working, maybe there was an Xbox update that fixed this. Combination of fast frame rate & ultra-fast 0.5ms response time gives a serious edge, especially jumping & shooting. Feels much more responsive than a previous LG 144HZ monitor I previously had (which claimed 2Ms response rate). Victory Royale first game using this monitor. Stand is ultra-sturdy too. Highly recommended.
