the rail does not fit ludwig kick drum lugs distance
Unfortunally, the rail does not fit ludwig kick drum lugs distance. Initially, the product is not published with rail dimentions info. I just tried to install it on Ludwig Epic buss drum, hoping ludwig hardware will match. Sadly, found that rail's holes are too wide for the distance between the lugs. 140 usd gone.

Awesome rail
It's heavy duty, holds my 10" X 14" rack tom firmly, and looks great (to me anyways). The best part is it's easily reversible, and my 26" bass drum is still "virgin". What a great invention!

Ludwig, nada a decir de más que eso
Muy bueno, colocado en un bombo de 24. Muy robusto y un design muy lindo y distinto de las otras marcas. Ludwig es así.

Excellent
Unit is strong and makes the tom much easier to place in a good position. Love it, nice work Ludwig.

Nice, but not for me.
I've been using the Atlas tom clamp mounted to a cymbal stand, but wanted to try the Atlas Arch Rail as an alternative to a center post type mount on the bass drum. Firstly, the Arch Rail is very sturdy...built like a tank with the same quality as everything else in the Ludwig Atlas line. As far as fit and range of adjustment, I was able to place the tom right where I wanted it on my 20" bass drum using the top two center lugs closest to the bass drum's batter head. But after playing with the tom mounted on the Arch Rail, I prefer the clamp...I think the drum just sounds better suspended off the cymbal stand. I also found the Arch Rail to be a bit heavy compared to the clamp, and I'm one who appreciates less weight in the hardware bag. So I returned the Arch Rail and went back to the clamp.

Super heavy duty
I bought these for an older model (1964) Ludwig kit... turned out to be way too heavy. This arc and the hardware weigh almost as much as the bass drum! Well made, but didn't work for what I wanted.

Ludwig Innovation At Its Finest!
Some people have complained that Ludwig has been behind in innovation for years. Well I think the new Atlas line of hardware has officially quieted Ludwig's critics. I recently purchased the Atlas Rail Mount for my non-Ludwig drum kit, and I must say that it performs fabulously. The adjustable screw allows the mechanism to fit on any drum that holds its lugs down with two screws. The L-Rod holds the drum perfectly in place, and thanks to the Atlas Double Tom Accessory I can now hold two rack toms onto my Arch Rail Mounting System with ease. The drums sing much more beautifully than they did when I used a rims mount thanks to the lug mount that has its three points of suspension. My bass drum even sounds fuller thanks in part to no longer having a metal pole shoved halfway through its shell. If you're looking to upgrade your hardware, I highly recommend Ludwig's Atlas series. I plan on remodeling my entire drum set using Ludwig's Atlas hardware to replace many of the inferior pieces on my maple kit.
