Nothing But Trouble (1991) (DVD)

The movie itself is a lot of fun. It's weird and gross and won't appeal to everyone, but the main cast carry it well, and Dan Aykroyd is brilliant.As for the Blu-ray itself, the picture is excellent, and there are some good interviews in the Bonus section. There are some problems with the audio, as others have pointed out. I have a 15 year old LG TV with basic built-in speakers and a 10 year old cheap Sony Blu-ray player, so from my own experience the overall audio quality is consistent regarding music, sound effects, background noise, that sort of thing. The problem is isolated mainly to the voice track. When the actors speak, their voices shift from center to left, back to center, to right, and so on. I noticed it mostly in scenes with Chevy Chase and John Candy. The opening scene with Chase and the bellhop is especially troublesome, and the problem persists for the first ten minutes. It's not constant, however, as the audio levels out. I noticed maybe six or seven instances where the problem pops up and lasts a couple of minutes at most, with the first ten minutes being the worst case. I'm sad to say it does happen during the Digital Underground performance.On the whole, the movie looks great. I love Aykroyd's performance and the weird humor. The audio issue, while noticeable, didn't ruin the experience for me. I can understand it being more of a problem for audiophiles and people with sound systems. Until Shout! Factory releases a disc with improved audio, buy at your own risk. 4 stars for picture and features, 2.5 stars for audio.

A classic movie to add to your collection. My daughter loves it too.

I really never got the hate for this movie. Props to Dan Akroyd aiming to make his mark, just shame this movie bombed. Chevy and Demi really are great in this movie. Of John Candy is really good doing two roles in thus film. Seeing him do drag in hus work is always nice. Seriously check this movie out if you like a good comedy and something very different.

The NEW audio interviews with the cast are kind of short but all cover a lot of ground about this mess of a movie. How Chevy could be tough, the massive set pieces, etc. Never thought anyone would want to talk about the film cause it bombed so it's cool to hear from them. The movie is odd and gross I won't deny.

States the movie has closed captions. Got this for my wife who is hard of hearing and it doesn’t have any closed captions on it whatsoever. Our player is even set to automatically put them on with any disc that supports it…. This sadly and definitely does not.

Absolute crap

I hadn't heard of this film before, so ordered it. It was wacky, funny, hilarious, but you have to have the same sense of humour.As an OAP, I enjoyed this, as did the rest of my family who watched it, the comedy shines through.

This is one of the best comedies ever made. A timeless classic if your down and need a boost this will cheer you up. Well worth the buy.
