Size:Knit Kit | Color:Kit Cosmos Galilea is made for lovers of color - for knitters who treasure the subtle nuances of coloring that can only be achieved by careful hand dyeing. Each skein is hand painted to the highest standards of the trade using only safe, colorfast dyes. As with all hand dyed yarns we recommend buying the full amount of skeins needed for your project at once. For larger pieces knitted in a single color it is advisable to alternate skeins every 5-7 rows to avoid abrupt color changes. With Galilea it is so easy to achieve that exquisitely textured color play of a handmade master piece - you will be delighted to say "I made it myself"! Technically Galilea is a sock yarn (meaning it is strong enough for gentle machine washing) but it is so pretty that it is mostly shown off in shawls, wraps and other fashion accessories... after all, you have bragging rights! Did we mention that Galilea is made to be worn on bare skin? It is spun from super soft SuperWash Merino wool with just a touch of Nylon for strength. It is so sumptuous and squishable that you may want to pet your skeins. Before knitting with Galilea we recommend winding your skein into a ball for tangle free knitting - or crochet, of course. Caring for your finished pieces is super simple: Hand wash or machine wash, gentle cycle, in cold water with mild wool detergent. Lay flat to dry. Skein of 100g (3.5oz) / 354m (387yd) — 80% SW Merino Wool 20% Nylon — 8-ply Sock Yarn Fingering Weight — US Needle 1-4

Exquisite yarn, even better customer service
I ordered Quasar, and it was easily the best yarn. Such saturated colors and comfortable softness. In a hurry I wove together a pair of gloves. Then, with a high expectation, I ordred Andromeda and Nebula. At first I was shocked at the dreary and pallid colors that hardly resembled the products as advertised. As these are Amazon Prime items, I contacted Amazon who then required that I ship them back in an era of social distancing, even from deliverypeople. With disappointment and defeat, I asked for a way to communicate with the seller. To a pleasant surprise in an otherwise difficult situation, the seller, Tanja, greeted me with excellent customer service. She apologized, almost profusely, and immediately gave me refunds. I did not have to return the misdyed yarns.Later that day, she uncovered a problem in the dye studio, which was a great anomaly. Ordinarily Tanja and her team maintain painstaking quality control. But this is an inordinate time, as the world understands; the outbreak caused understaffing, which then led to these mistakes slipping through the cracks. If your skein looks like the picture above, contact the seller directly. Tanja is a paragon of kindness and patience. To state telegraphically, these yarns come with my highest recommendation. The yarns are excellent; the customer service is even more so.

Worked up beautifully. Even twist - no thin spots or slugs- love the colors.

Best sock yarn
I learned how to knit socks 1/20 and 6 months later have competed my 17th pair. I have used several different yarns but this is my favorite. The yarn makes a cushy sock, it feels good in my hands while knitting and the hand dyed effect of the color makes it interesting with a beautiful finished product. I keep coming back to this yarn for socks. I’m now on my 7th different color. It really is a beautiful product.

Lovely!
I received the skein and of course, as a true knitter, I had to touch and feel, sense it. If I had my own yarn show I would call it the Kitty Making Bisciuts Room. Absolutely lovely! This one is for me. Can't wait to start with it. First, have to finish a pair for my socks but this skein is all MINE!My old cat is a real fiber snob. I think the pictures shows exactly his feelings about this yarn.

Best EVER!!!
I have been doing needle work for 60 years. This is, hands down, the most exquisite yarn I have ever had the privilege of working into wearable art. It is velvet soft, easy to work with (as long as you know how to properly unwrap the skein and make a ball) and the hand-dying has just enough variation to make the final project very 3-dimensional. Most importantly, its a wool that does’t itch. I am highly allergic to wool, but not this wool. I don't know what they do to it, but I am thrilled! I called the company because I needed more of the color I liked and they let me know when it became available. Really the best experience all around. Highly recommend the yarn and the company.

Screen color not necessarily accurate, but wonderful yarn
Gorgeous yarn! The color of the blue is a bit darker than my screen shows, but it still matches well with my project.

Nice yarn
Nice yarn BUT there are no dyelots and the skeins of the same color ordered at the same time (as suggested by the seller ) are VERY different in color, different enough that even alternating them you see a big color shift.
