Wow did this book change my lighting life. You can really tell the Nate has installed 1000's of lights. where other books tell you what the lighting does, Up, Down whatever he goes into detail on Concepts of why to put a light in a certain position. As every light is in play for the lighting portrait. I used to cry about not making money and having to lower my bid to some other cheap installer, this book taught me how to design and sell lighting not lights. I am now a lighting designer. Nate has been one of the first guys on the scene and most lighting resource books are based off the concepts written here. The version i have is one of the first resources on outdoor lighting and goes into everything it takes to plan, install, service and sell lighting systems. It also goes very in depth in the science of lighting, its reaction to the eyes, color temperature, mood and lighting portfolios, electricity and alot more.This is the first book you should buy. It has everything.

I had very little knowledge of proper lighting techniques, so I picked this book up and it changed everything. It is very detailed and gives very good theories on lighting techniques. It's a must read for anybody in the lighting industry regardless of what your skill level is.
