Dynaflex Regular Pro strengthens your wrists, forearms, etc. Designed with a high performance rotor, which can reach speeds up to 13,000 rpm's and puts out 38 lbs. of torque, it aids in the prevention of repetitive strain injuries and carpel tunnel syndrome. It improves coordination while building strength!? The Pro Plus comes with a removable top cap, which allows the insertion of the optional speed meter. When attached to the Pro Plus, the speed meter gives the user the option to have 3 separate working programs through the digital functions: measures the user's current speed, user's highest rpms, and maximum revolutions of the gyro, speed meter sold separately.

Everything it claims to be and more
I'm obsessed with this thing. Got it for a worsening carpel tunnel issue for which this was a blessing. I also had been feeling that my weight-lifting routine was being slowed down by my hands, not my muscles. A few weeks of use and my wrists can finally keep up with my biceps when lifting. On a side note - I became fascinated with the motion of the gyro and calm it instilled in me as I absentmindedly used it all evening long. Highly recommended.

Not Dynaflex, but it works ok...
3 star mainly because it's advertised as Dynaflex, but it's definitely not it.I was able to start the ball with the string (it's really bad by the way, the string broke after a few uses) and my thumb. So, I assume all those gyroball out there will probably function the same way.Other than that, it's been working fine for me.Will update this review later for durability of the product.

Needs better instruction. Don't give up if you can't get it going.
The instructions that came with it are very limited. I got this one at a better price because it appears to have been a return, I'm guessing it was from someone who got frustrated like I did in the beginning and just gave up, as it looked unused. There is simply no way to get it going by just reading the directions that came with it. Had to go online and watch several videos to get what they mean.Otherwise, works great once you figure it out. Also, mine came not as pictured: it was clear and white color combo, even though the description and the picture showed what you see in the listing. Works just the same, I imagine.

Bought this as a replacement for a cheaper one. The other one had too much friction that made it hard to keep it moving. But this one was super easy to use and can generate quite a bit of resistance. My occupational therapist recommended it after I tore a ligament in my wrist. This is the brand she has at her office.

Have fun while working out!
Very fun once you get the hang of it. For me personally it was a bit challenging to get started, even with the string but pretty much everyone else got the hang of it right off the bat.Don't be intimidated, however, after a few hours of toying with it, I was able to start it with either hand without the string so the learning curve isn't too steep.I like that you can vary the intensity on your own to get the workout you want. The price is great and it's a lot of fun, as well as muscle strengthening.Would recommend

May or may not start by hand.
Works nice if you can get the gyro staryed. My son has one and he starts it by hand. He couldn't get mine started. So I used the string. Starts every time. But what happens when I lose the string. Sent it back and ordered another. Same results, but I kept it and will be careful not to misplace string.

I've had a few of these over the years. This one worked much more smoothly than the others. This one should have lasted longer than previous models I've had, since it has a separate bearing surface ring. I claim responsibility for mucking up this one. Pro Tip: Don't let sand get in your gyro-thing.

Interesting device that does give a useful workout to the hand
I received this device today and used it for at least an hour. This is like a 'planet' within a hollow sphere. The 'planet' inside has an axis, which is made out of a metal pin. The planet spins around the axis, just like a planet around it's pole, but there is also another movement. The ends of the axis are in a circular groove and are allowed to rotate in that groove, perpendicular to the 'pole' rotation. When that second movement happens, one end of the pole pushes down as it goes around, and the other pushes up. It's the nature of a gyroscopes. That's where the wobble comes from that you will see when you use it or look at videos. Youtube has some good videos of this device being used. There are animations and descriptions of gyroscopes online. When you assist the force of the wobble by using it as directed, you speed up both the spins. The idea is to speed up the wobble and maintain a fairly high frequency. The wobble will give your hand a workout-the higher the frequency the more the workout. It's impossible to maintain a very high frequency for more than a few seconds due to the strength required to wobble that fast. The device will give you a useful workout, no doubt. As far muscle mass building is concerned, I don't know if it will, but you will feel a dynamic force on your hand, especially your thumb, when you use it. This certainly at least will strengthen your forearms, which provides the force for your fingers.I highly recommend the purchase. Gyroscopes are amazing devices.

Great wrist strengthener
This thing is pretty hard to start up with my palm or on a table top even after watching the training video with "Sexy Ned Flanders". I always use the cord to spin the Powerball up, but be careful so that the cord doesn't get caught inside the unit. It can be tricky to get back out again.

Broken Product through Amazon
This is a great product, I used my friend's all the time and loved it. BUT, when I bought if from amazon it came broken. The inner ball was not connected properly and I could hear moving parts broken off inside. I guess it broke off when during the shipping? The CD was also cracked. I didn't think much of it because I've never got a bad product from amazon before so this was a first time. I asked for a replacement and it came in the very next day. HOWEVER, this one had the exact same issues!!! Same problem with the ball and same CD cracked. I compared with my friend's and his is still working fine (he did not get it from amazon). So I do not know why I got 2 broken products, but I am going to return them both and look for the product elsewhere. Honestly, this is my first bad experience from amazon, hopefully doesn't happen again.

Simply does not work
I am a hand therapist and was hoping to use this with clients but it doesn't work at all. There is absolutely zero spin when you wind it up. Useless.

Interesting but challenging
Good arm workout when you get the thing going, but very difficult as a beginner. Hurt my wrist and thumb with it trying to figure it out, but got better at it eventually.
