comfortable to use, easy on, easy off
The media could not be loaded. I had a bit of a shock when I first opened this and a load of watery slime ran out all over my hands. It wasn't disgusting or anything but it was a surprise, I think that this has been in storage for a long time and the liquid base feels like it has separated from the solid particulates. I've tried to massage the tube to mix it back up again and that seems to have worked. The tube has no english instructions - the ingredients are easily understandable, but all the text is German - as you might expect with it being a German product, but it's odd that there's no english language labeling too. To be clear, the german instructions translate to: "Clean the face, simply apply (avoid eyes and mouth area) and let it soak in. Wash off with warm water."Once the tube is well mixed it's really easy and comfortable to use on my flake-prone skin. It applies quite thin, and washes off easily without any staining. It felt like it was very slightly tightening as it was soaking in, I'm not sure whether this was the salicylic acid or just the natural drying out of the mask. I used a wet flannel to buff it off.

Too expensive
Will you look at that price - £16.67! Okay, I did see that it was only 50ml when I ordered it, but it didn't register that this was only slightly bigger than my thumb. Fortunately it was sent at no cost to me in order to test and write what you are currently reading. When I was a teenager, which is more years ago than I'm prepared to admit in public, clay masks were what we used to use in an effort to make our skin clear and fresh. Once on the skin was rigid and so we'd hide ourselves away for fear of someone making us laugh, because even the smallest crack or shift in the mask would render it totally useless. Thank goodness we've moved on – or have we?This, as I said, is a small tube of clay with other Stuff mixed in, which is applied to the face, left on for a while, then washed off. At least I'm assuming that's how it's used as the instructions, and all other information, is printed in German which, other than a few basic words and how to count to 3, is beyond me. I just love the blurb on the Amazon page – go on, read it:Brazilian clay leaves oily and oily skin no chance. A firm skin feeling is included.Passion fruit oil reduces skin oily A matte and velvety appearance is available on top.I love the idea that a “firm skin feeling is included” and that a “matte and velvety appearance is available on top”.Anyway, I tried this, using it the way I did all those years ago, and to be perfectly honest, which after all is what a review should be, it's okay. Nothing to shut about, and certainly nothing worth almost £17 a tube.

Expensive and only so-so results
This small tube of Purify me! Face mask clay is yet another brand trying to get your attention by claiming their unique set of ingredients (passion fruit oil and salicylic acid here) works really well in removing spots, blemishes and other marks caused by oily skin. The small 50ml tube has an odd, grey and rather wet mask in which is easy to spread over the face but really needs to be done over the sink because it's quite drippy. It does, however, cover well with a small amount (just as well given the price for such a small tube). Results were mixed, after 2 weeks of using the tube there were very slight differences but not as pronounced as some of the other masks we've tested that were much less in price. With so many on the market, this sadly doesn't really stand out.

Left my skin feeling soft and smooth, but I'm not sure it does much for spots
This is a very small tube of product, almost like a toothpaste tube.I found that my mask had separated inside the tube. I fixed this by opening the lid to release the air, then closing it again and giving the tube a good shake to recombine. I'd recommend you do the same, or you might just end up with a murky liquid rather than a face mask!Once recombined, the mask comes out of the tube as a thick, oat-coloured paste. The instructions are very lacking, so I just applied the mask to a clean, dry face for twenty minutes and hoped for the best.It felt soothing when it was on, with no irritation. The mask washed off easily with no residue, and my skin definitely felt much smoother and softer. I also think it had more of a glow to it.I'm not sure, however, that the mask does much for spots. It contains salicyclic acid which is known to be a good anti-acne treatment, and it contains clay which supposedly draws out impurities. Unfortunately, I actually got a new spot on my nose a few hours after using the mask! Perhaps the clay drew it out?! I'm inclined to think it was coincidence, though, and that the mask has little effect on blemishes for either better or worse.I do like the mask for how smooth and soft it made my skin, and I'm happy to recommend for those reasons alone.

A face mask for oily/shiny skin.
This is a small 50 ml tube of a clay based mask for oily skin. My skin is still prone to shiny areas so I thought I would try this to see if it improved the texture of my skin and dried some of the oil in my skin out.It is quite a thin gel and absorbed quickly into my skin. It dried in no time at all and on washing off my skin felt very taut for a while. I had no adverse effects but no improvement in oiliness either. At £16.25 this is expensive for what it is. I calculated you could probably get about six or seven applications out of the tube.A downside for me is all the instructions are printed in German so I had to play it by ear but fortunately I have used these masks before so just applied the same principle. This is an ok product that I would not rebuy as I think you can get better for less..
