Decent enough guitar for the price
My conclusion is that is a good guitar for beginners and intermediates. Here is why:Cons:This guitar doesn't come with a strap button at the neckjoint, so I had to buy and install one myself. My 15th fret was also too high, which means playing high on the neck caused all sorts of fret buzz and ugly sounds, which forced me to buy a fret leveling kit.But the big reason I rate it only 4/5 is that to change the 9-volt battery, you must stick your hand in the sound hole and change the battery one-handed and without seeing what you are doing, after you have loosened or removed the strings of course. This is a massive downgrade from my Ibanez GA6CE, an identically-priced guitar, in which the battery pack slides out through the side of the guitar. The decision to force people to change the battery by putting your hand in the sound hole is almost baffling to me.Pros:Apart from those few gripes, I have nothing but good things to say. The guitar looks nice, as well as sounds nice both plugged and unplugged, and it holds its tune very well. I do not regret my purchase at all.

Great Little Guitar
Sooo... I just happened upon this gem used for an obscenely low price that I could not say no to... I was totally not expecting much but wow....I'll start with the Cons: The nut and saddle are trash.. if you play hard - they will wear very quickly... This guitar is old and if this is the saddle that came with it.. it's not sized properly and it leans forward.. throwing off the intonation pretty terribly... I am upgrading to bone soon.. AND THAT"S IT!! Seriously.. this is a win win guitar! Lists used for less than $200.. if you are a serious player the upgrades are cheap and super easy... if you're a hobbyist.. you're talking prob $100 for a set up with new bridge and saddle..Pros:1) The action is superb, particularly for this price point.2) The thing just stays in tune..3) The tone of the guitar is fantastic! Again particularly for this price point..Fully bonded guitar, for less than $300 all in, that holds tune, sounds great and has action like this? Sign me up! If you are thinking about pulling the trigger on this one.. do it..

Good for 6 months ONLY
I purchased this as a replacement for my ovation celebrity. I wanted an all wood guitar instead of the plastic back on the ovation.I traded in my ovation at one of those big music warehouses which discounted the amount I would have to pay for a new guitar by 100 usd. After playing all of the guitars in the mid price range the Mitchell was hands down the best sounding and best looking. This guitars tone is comparable to much higher priced guitars. With the recommendation of the sales person I took my discount and welcomed this guitar into my family.I played it constantly. I practice and write all of my music on acoustic. Playing at least 3-4 hours a night 5-6 days a week....WELL if you are a serious player like I am you would be better off saving your money and buying a higher price guitar with better components. The saddle and nut on this guitar is soft plastic and will wear down FAST!The saddle where all 6 strings sat developed deep scratches, so deep that the G string string would no longer ring or sustain but rather sound like a blanket was covering it. This also effected the B string. The cost to replace these with bone or Tusq would cost me another 100+ so...The original 100 trade in plus 100 for fixing combined with 270 and your at almost 500.. that's a decent Martin or almost a Taylor...trust me, if you play a lot or hard this will happen. Even the rosewood had grooves worn deep from the strings tensions.for a beginner it's amazing but intermediate save for a Taylor or Martin.Don't say I didn't warn you.

Affordable Quality
I have been playing about 30 years and got this guitar used, about 6 months ago.I love the playability now that I have sanded down the saddle and filed the nut string grooves. All solid woods means better sound but it also means you need to keep this guitar in a case between playings. The electronics sound very good/natural through a direct out and then to a sound board. It also sounds great unplugged. I like Elixir strings on mine. I got a great deal on my used unit but I would still rank this as a great value when buying new.

Brilliant sound, quality craftsmanship
I wanted a lower-cost beginners guitar to start teaching myself. I chose this Mitchell for the Acoustic/Electric versatility, the phenomenal sound resonation, and the low action. The sound rivals some of the lower end Taylors or Martins, for a fraction of the cost. It's easy for me to make it sound good since the action is so low, which means that the strings only rest slightly off the neck of the guitar. Great for beginners who don't have finger strength to play barre chords.I have only plugged it in once or twice, but both times, the on board mini-amp has volume and hi/low levels, which get the job done. No cool effects on board, but I'm just a beginner trying to learn the basics of guitar theory.Overall phenomenal guitar for beginners, also a great travel guitar for those with more experience, it won't let you down either.

Great quality despite affordable price
Despite the very affordable price, this guitar is of excellent quality. The tone is warm yet has much volume. Also, the action is low, so it's quite easy to play bar chords. All in all, I am very content with my purchase.
