Floortex Polycarbonate Chair Mat 60" x 48" for Hard Floors, Clear (FR1215219ER)

I just bought the 48 in x 60 in chair mat. While it is sheer, but not clear, the wood can be seen through it, and was a lot cheaper than a glass. It came loosely rolled up, but flattened out immediately. Mat seems hard and durable. So far it is working perfectly, looks good, and I am very happy about this purchase. I would highly recommend.

Our old floor mat for wife's desk chair (from Office Depot or similar) had cracked through and was no longer serviceable. I have a thick piece of custom plexiglas type plastic under my chair that is still in great condition after decades. This new mat for my wife's chair (adjoining desk area to mine) is so far working fine. Presently it overlaps my mat but that seems to be no problem as this new one is so much thinner than the one under my chair. Ultimately we will cut the new one to size so the two mats abut without overlaping. I looked for substantial mat intended for over rug use (this one is advertised for hardwood floors) but found nothing suitable. However this one works fine over our carpet (low, closed loop -- not that different from hard floor except for rough surface texture).

After conducting extensive research to find a chair mat to protect our brand new, dark cherry hardwood floors, I selected this mat and purchased at the end of April. It seemed like it would be a very durable mat and would protect our brand new floors. In addition, I also purchased brand new casters for my chair that were designed for hard surfaces and durable to ensure our floor would remain protected.Within 1 month of use, I noticed that the mat had developed some white skid marks on it. Within 5 months of use, I decided to pull up the mat to vacuum and mop underneath it. This is when I noticed the SEVERE damage to our floors.First, the floor is scratched around the entire edges of the mat. This is not due to the chair rolling off the mat, as it remained on it the entire duration of use. It is from the edge of the mat itself. Secondly, there was a severe scratch / dent / "worn" area on the floor that corresponded to each white skid mark on the map. The product lacked the thickness and rigidity to protect the flooring under it.Lastly, it builds up extremely high levels of static electricity when attempting to remove it from the floor - so much that several sparks appeared while pulling it up. I am glad it did not damage any of the sensitive computer and electronic components that were nearby.Through no fault of Amazon, the price of the product, in my opinion, was at a premium. Clearly, the product is inferior and actually did more harm to the floor than if I had not even used a mat at all. Our brand new floor is now completely ruined in this room, thanks to this crappy product.Stay far, far away from this product if you don't want your floors to be severely damaged.

My shipment (March 2018) arrived rolled up in a large box. Once untaped it lay flat on my new hardwood floor. There's a flat side and a lightly textured side. I put the smooth side down, on top of a few scraps o rubberized shelf-paper to keep it from moving around on the floor. All we well until early 2023 when an area developed a crack. Hmmm. Clearly out of warranty so what to do. I rotated it to minimize wear on that area but eventually the cracks began to radiate outwards ad though it were a pothole. Some shipping tape on top helped hold everything to gather for a while but I guess it's time to order a replacement. Five years isn't a bad life span - and my wooden floor underneath still looks like new. I'm ordering a replacement!

As soon as it arrived I unrolled it and laid it down to see if it would lay flat - which it immediately did. I also tried to make it slide because several reviews noted that it was "dangerously slippery" and would shift when you walked on it (so poor mat to floor traction) - It did NOT move at all on the lino type flooring in my office. Thin enough that if I roll off it, I'll be able to roll back onto it without a big pain in the rear too.

Very high quality plastic, glad I spent the extra money on polycarbonate instead of PVC and glad I got a discount on a returned item at Amazon Warehouse Deals. Unlike a $50 vinyl mat I picked up at a certain large office supply store, which is now a throwaway work mat, it doesn't memorize folds or creasing at all. Packed loosely rolled over once in a large box, it laid perfectly flat immediately. I like that it's made in the UK.I actually bought a size large enough to be able to cut it into two smaller mats. Easy to do, perfect for my needs. Just had to sand the cut edges smooth. Very pleased with the mat and the deal I got, I would be shocked if it doesn't hold up for many years to come.

It slips much too easily. Had to lay it smooth side down, to lay flat. Rough side up is not clear.

After doing quite a bit of online research and some comparative shopping in local stores, I bought this one in 60" x 48".Arrived in two days via Prime shipping in a 12" diameter box which had sustained no damage. When I unrolled the mat, it laid perfectly flat on the floor right out of the box. I have experience NO slipping or sliding of the mat on our laminated hardwood floor. The mat was in perfect condition with no marks, gouges or flaws. There was no tape on the mat, only a 3" square sticker which was effortless to peal off. The sticker announced that the product was made in the UK, and said "This Side Up" (smooth side touching the floor). My desk chair glides easily on the surface and the chair stays in place when I am sitting in it.I can recommend this mat without hesitation.

I have no issues with this mat. Its a hard plastic, unlike my previous mat which was also for hard floors but was rubbery. Because this one is hard, it doesn't migrate around like my previous mat. I love the large size, it fits my work area perfectly and I don't roll of the edge. After about two weeks it has a slight downward curl on the one end, but its only up 1 or 2mm, so no issues. My other mat didn't lay flat either after 11 months. I'm going to park my chair on the end at night and see if it fully flattens. I could also rotate the mat 180 degrees so the curl is under my desk and it would be completely unnoticed. Long story short, I would recommend and would purchase again. My only regret is not buying this in the first place.

My Cleartex Ultimat Chair Mat was shipped flat, so installation was simply placing it on my office hardwood floor with the clear, flat side down. I also order the bigger size 48" x 60" and I'm glad I did so I can move around a bit more on my chair. Quality is excellent for this premium clear polycarbonate mat, although it's not clear like glass. I'm pleased with this purchase, and expect this mat will last for a long time. Thanks.

This 48"x60" sheet arrived shipped flat. It's actually 59"x47" (150 cm x 120 cm). Thickness is only 0.067" (1.7 mm).Polycarbonate is durable stuff. It looks good on my textured vinyl floor. Pretty expensive for what you get, though. I hope that it lasts.Edit: After 6 months, it is holding up well and looks good.

Arrived already flat and ready for use. Was super impressed with this thing. Absolutely giant and perfect for a 6 foot long desk. Can fit up to two large gaming chairs on it.

This mat is perfect! It was delivered unrolled, and therefore once removed from the box, it laid flat right away. It is clear, so barely visible, and thin enough that when you walk over the live edge, you do not risk tripping. The size is perfect and I would recommend this product for any hard floors.
