Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Value Bundle with Kinect

I bought the XBox 360 for my grandson, (9 years old) as a Christmas gift. First, he created avatars for himself, his dad, and me. Needless to say, he created and saved several outfits for his avatar--one even for going to sleep at night. Naturally, he took a lot of time giving me instructions on how to operate the unit since "it lives with me." Once the avatars were in place, he explored the many features of his XBox. To me it was quite complicated; however, as with all young children, they are up to speed on all of today's technology. We set up profiles on the Kinect and played around with space requirements needed to fully enjoy it. We downloaded the free Carnival and Kinect Adventures games that came with the purchase by using the Redeem Codes. Afterwards, we tried several of the games out (too numerous to name since I am not currently signed into the system). I can tell you that I got tired trying to keep up with the Kinect requirements (You really have to be in good tip top shape since most are so physical.) My grandson had no problem keeping up. (His dad was too busy enjoying his new Kindle Fire I gave him.) My grandson had no problem keeping up with the dance moves of the Just Dance 3 game; I had to sit down after about 3 minutes. (I learned I have to get back on my Bowflex and get my legs back in shape in order to fully enjoy the benefits derived from partaking in Just Dance 3.) My grandson was back to my home early Monday and Tuesday to get started again on XBox 360. (He will be back this afternoon to get signed in to his XBox.) In the meantime, I have found myself staying up until 3-4 a.m. in the morning playing the games (those where I can work the controller). Last night I enjoyed a game that required racing boats; I don't want to tell you how much fun I kept having crashing the boat because I did not know how to steer; I kept going in the wrong direction. The fun was in "just doing it." I'll learn how to play the games later; right now, I'm just getting familiar with everything.I gave the XBox 360 250GB five (5) stars because I can already see the possibilities for so much family fun and great exercising especially during inclement weather. It wasn't hard to set up even though I did get confused during the initial setup. I did not know I should have been using my Windows Live Email Address as a contact; instead, I used my son's google email address. I tried to change it and found out I had to wait 30 days. That's okay though; my son is having to forward me his emails so I will be kept up to speed until 25 Jan 2012, at which time I will be able to make a correction to the email address. (This is small potatoes.) I was, however, able to make changes to my email address associated with billing information immediately--no waiting for 30 days there. (Okay, I understand, Billing is Business and Microsoft will give you every opportunity to provide correct billing information. Ain't no shame in that!!!)My grandson, son, and I will be firing the XBox back up this evening. BTW: We've already enjoyed watching NETFLEX movies on it. This is a great device. I know there is so much more to be said, but HEY, it's only been set up since Christmas. I highly recommend it as a gift for anyone at any age. One of the reasons we bought the Xbox Kinect was because we went to a party and have TONS of fun with the thing. WE have a 4 year old that is very active we did not want to buy a console where he is isolated in his own world playing games for hours on end by himself. We want something where we all can play and be active, silly and have fun as a family.The Xbox does just that. We have some little "tune Up" problems especially when my son plays we think is because he moves too fast and is too little for the Kinect to "Capture" his movements not as easy as it does with full grown adults.Other complains is games are EXPENSIVE!!! You can always try one of those gaming stores where they sell used games cheaper or like always try Amazon incredible discounts and not paying taxes...We recommend this to families who have children that make you closer while having fun. Some kinect games had pictures or small movies where you can capture what the players did or performed my son loves that he laughs so hard that his stomach hurts!!Has a foot note we don't like neither buy violent games so we cannot comment on those for the regular games yes they are fun, keep your little ones active and not isolated from the rest, Highly recommended as a family fun. We tried the Netflix thing just for the sake of using the trial period and even though the selections of movies include rather old movies we were amazed by the speed what the movies were downloaded and quality of some of the movies we watched.There are some complains about the $399 bundle games we found those games acceptable if you have little kids otherwise I guess older kids could get bored quickly.

* There is no doubt that this game is fun to play with. Even though you are not a hardcore gamer, you would love to play Kinect games with your family and friends.* It is a real fun to play games in multiplayer mode with your Xbox live friends* However you might want to consider whether u want to go with 250GB or not. I you plan to download lot of games, movies and music then way to go.* But if you want to explore it a bit and you can go for 4GB. You can add up to 16GB with you pen drive. And finally if you feel the need, you can always add-on the 250GB hard drive.* Please remember that even if you download the games from you discs to your hard drive, you would still need the CD to start the game initially. After that the game would run from the hard drive. The plus point is that it reduces the wear and tear of the dics and helps the console not to heat up.For Amazon:* Please avoid using OnTrac for delivery. For my package, they didnt even attempt delivery, but updated the status as "Will attempt re-delivery on next working day". When I called, they informed that the delivery could not happen due to weather conditions.* Also many reviewers on Amazon were complaining about delivery to wrong address. I didnt want to risk my xbox to be delivered to the wrong address. So arranged for self pickup from their facility.

liked it for a little while until it started giving me trouble. Got my money back and got something else.
